I agree - if someone pulls out a police badge, we trust them.(unless we are an adult on a lonely highway - then we drive to a police station, but I am old enough to know better.......... In most situations, I as a woman, trust a cop at least.***k this guy.Tie him up to a pole in downtown Columbus, douse him with gasoline and set him on fire. One less pedophile in the world our children have to fear!!

Big Gay Al and Live Dumb (Free) are the ones that are obviously clueless. What Retired Deputy is saying is true and I remember seeing it on the news many years ago. Badges and IDs were handed out like party favors by previous sheriff's. The two of you idiots would do well to take a history lesson.

The reason is that the majority of the charges are manufactured and trumped up to be more than they are. This is the bread and butter of Licking County. They will turn anything into a sex crime, lie to get a conviction and even lie to witnesses about the evidence they have. Thorp, Oswalt, Van Winkle - they all have a good game they are running.(look at what Oswalt is STILL trying to do to that poor 12 year old boy, even after the Supreme Court ruled against him - he's a homophobic idiot (or closet homosexual trying to divert attention from himself --- almost 50 - unmarried - lives in a seedy part of town...) and a taxpayer money waster!)
Most likely the detective involved in this 'sting' was Chris Barbuto - this seems to be his thing. He's done it before, the Advocate has published his name before doing this, posing as teen girls.
The thing is...... this is a man soliciting another man. Posing as a teen girl or not, this is NOT the reality of whom the person is talking to. This is entrapment, plain and simple - but they say they can do it because they wear a badge and THAT makes it legal. Why doesn't law enforcement have to live by the same laws that we do?
They have an alcoholic child beater on the force (Hartless)- he's wrecked cars and hit a family member. He gets diversion and keeps his job at full pay after a couple of 'classes.' Any one of us would have been looking at prison time, but if you are 'in the club' in Licking County, bad behavior gets a pass.
Also... depending on how the 'known to be shady' Licking County police department wants to play this, they can change the age of this 'imaginary girl' on a whim to make the charges worse.
Also... we don't know if this is the way it really went down with the man they arrested. We have not heard his side, and it's doubtful we will because it's already been reported that he's guilty - which sets the plan in motion for the 'take the plea' standard deal that they do with everyone, guilty or not. It's a well crafted machine, people --- and they've been getting away with it for a long, long time. The Licking County detectives are famous for telling those that they arrest that "It's your word against ours and who is going to believe someone who is not an officer?"
As a famous TV judge says, "I wouldn't believe any of them, even if their tongues came notarized." And I wouldn't be surprised if they planted whatever badge they found.

The question being presented is How did he come into possessing A badge? Now, only one explanation was offered, yet there are so many Responses. Simply answer the question, adapt to the Explanation, or skip the Forum altogether. If the Explanation doesn't suit you, Move on. Or simply Provide one.(Very Simplistic, yet Uncomprehensible.) And before one of you Intellects posts that I haven't provided one, I view your Actions as a more Pertinent Matter. HaHaHa

It's a big county that most people still think of being a small, rural county. Between having a county seat with over 50,000 population and lots of suburban development in it's western half, there are lots more people than most people realize.

It's chock full of Billy-Bob that why...
1.Why,why, there's so many Billy- Bobs in Lickin' Co., they buy bottles of 'pumped in'
sunlight from the hollars of Kentucky!
2. Incest was so popular from where they came from...they just had to import there from
3. They're hopeing to get a part in the filming the sequel to Deliverance, called
Deliverance 2011: Lickin' and Splitin' Em'!
4. They move to Lick Em' Co... because Grovetucky doesn't allow for low-income trailer-
- park developement!
5. They moved to Lick em' Co...because W.Va. deported them for trying to file claims
of 'Spousal Support' against farm animals.
The downside? All the farm animals in Lick em' Co... are taken.
animals as dependent
