I would rather inject heroin into my vein than ever take an ambien pill. I suffer from insomnia occasionally, but it beats sleepdriving and crashing into people.

I would like to see this guy stand in the lane of traffic that is used by folks that use the same kind of drugs he had in his system. He should get exactly what he bestowed on these innocent victims. This guy has a history of doing this. Put him away for good.

This is horribly sad....
What's with all these doctors having prescription pill addictions? Hypocrits
I wonder how long those drugs stay in your system...because I find it funny when people are like "They had marijuana in their system." Well really who cares? because they could have smoked it a month prior!

This is a ridiculous government prosecution. Prosecutors criminalized far to much these days.

The prosecutor should be removed from office.

Driving while under the influence of drugs that impair your ability to drive is against the law. I should think the reason for the law would be obvious to you.

Or do you think that people driving while drunk shouldn't be arrested either?

wow,it took to the 7th post for someone to side with the murderer.
Usually in Minnafornia, land of fruits and nuts it happens much faster!
Send the drug addict/killer away. When his term of incarceration is up he will still have one up on his victims, he will still be alive.

Actually, this could be a point of interest. And may be valid. Who does decide when a fetus, or in my world, a baby is considered human? Thus, making the death something punishable? Hmm or is the MOM the only one allowed to determine the right to life or death?
Yup,, whole different topic, I agree, BUT, since the baby was a victim as well, it IS relevant.

I think that the relevant point is that the woman in this case did not have an abortion. Only the woman can consent to aborting her fetus.

This woman wanted to carry her fetus to term and the actions of this man killed the fetus without her consent (I know this all sounds cold blooded but I'm talking about a legal point here)

It's still questionable as to whether it can be considered murder, I don't think a case has been taken to a high court for a judgment. But it seems that it would definitely be considered a crime against the women.

Any lawyers want to comment?

Let me put some humanity to the story as I'm the father-in-law of her and the grandfather of the the baby. The baby's name was to be Sophia. She was due to be born July 2nd. Her cousin was born two months before and the families looked forward to the two girls growing up together. Her cousin is cooing, smiling and thrashing around now. My son has not been able to hold his niece yet as he is still devistated by the loss of his wife, stepdaugher and his baby. There is so much more to tell but you get the point. Sophie could have lived at the term she was at. She was my granddaughter. Not a thing or a fetus.

Of course it's relevant. No one said it wasn't. I think she was just saying let's not turn this into an abortion debate, when it had nothing to do with abortion. I guarantee the fact that her fetus died as well will/has come into play in the charges.

Please know that most folks in here are so filled with prayers for your loss. I hope that people that spoke without thinking will never have to experience that kind of pain.

I am very very sorry for your loss. But I will say to you what I have said to others who have come to this forum after experiencing a tragic loss that was reported in the newspaper.

This is a forum to discuss the newspaper articles. It is not a memorial. Therefore you will take the chance of reading some pretty rough stuff here.

I believe there is an online section of the PP which is a memorial to commemorate loved ones who have died. I really think you should not read the stuff that is on this forum. We are discussing the newspaper article and debating certain points so of course it is going to sound coldblooded to people who actually knew the victims.

Spare yourself the extra pain and don't read any more posts here. It won't do you any good and will just bring you unnecessary extra grief.

God bless.

I think most people in Oconomowoc are sensitive to the family and their loss. It has affected our entire community.

However, I agree that many on these blogs try to push their own ideas and change the "topic" into a whole different subject or a political debate.

My heart cries out for justice and my prayers continue for the family. May God give you His strength.
