KAREN KEIFER WAS BURIED FRIDAY BY HER MOTHER WITH NO ONE PRESENT INCLUDING HERSELF. KAREN'S FATHER WAS TOLD THERE WOULD BE A FUNERAL BUT THE MOTHER BURIED HER BEFORE HE COULD GET THERE. I WANT ANYONE WHO KNEW KAREN TO KNOW THE NATURE OF THE MOTHER SHE LOVED.

I did not even know Karen passed away. Both my children knew Brian and Karen in school. This is very sad to think that no one was there for this girl to say goodbye, to say a few kind words for this girls life. I wonder what went wrong in this family. First Brian and now Karen. Lives lost too soon.

Could it be that the circumstances around Karen's untimely passing was too much for her Mum to handle?

Could you tell me more about what happened. I saw Karen a few years ago and she seemed great. I never saw an obituary or anything.

There was an very sweet Obituary in The River East. I've tried to google it, but can't seem to find it. I too, had seen Karen around town in the past...not sure what really happened. WHat ever it was, how very sad.

Karen's burial was awful, and in my opinion, disrespectful. I cannot comprehend how someone could treat their own child like that. Karen's mother must be demented.
We will remember how Karen was treated.

I extend my deepest sympathy to you and to the rest of Karen's Family. I knew both Brian and Karen for many years...and will always remember the both of them as loving, bright, funny children. May they both rest in peace.

Her liver stopped functioning. Many people in Karen's family loved her very much and attempted to attend the funeral only to find out that she had already been buried before we arrived. This was due to her mother's actions and has nothing to do with her father's side of the family. I remember when both Brian and Karen were born, and we loved them both. Clint loved his daughter and son, and always will. I hope they are in Heaven and that they are resting in peace, together.

don't anyone feel pity for the he man legged women. she was vicious to her children. Karen's father on the other hand was always open, loving and accepting of his children..especially Karen. she was his lil girl. I don't recall that witch shedding a tear at Brian's funeral, was treated more as a social event and then she does this to Karen? I hope no one is around to shed tears at her death (as bad as that sounds) she doesn't deserve it. I will forever remember Karen's laugh...nose wrinkled, snorting and sqeeking at the same time. it always made me smile. I feel privileged to have know them sweet people that lived so much unlike their mother...the apple sometimes does fall far from the tree...R.I.P. Karen...I love and miss u. her and Brian are deeply missed :*-(

I went to school with both Brian and Karen at Colchester Bible Baptist Church. Karen smiled all the time. I was living overseas when both Brian and Karen died. I saw Brian right before he passed, and he gave me a big hug and was so glad to see me. I heard about Karen's passing soon after, and was deeply grieved. I worked in ministry with people that are going through hard times. I knew the family when back in the day. I can only say that we all have things that need to be settled between us and God...not on the internet. I disapprove of people slamming each other whether comments are true or not. We each have to get our lives right with God, and should not judge the shortcomings of others. I knew Mrs. Keifer, and she gave me my first opportunity to work with sharing the gospel with children. I was twelve. I have been working with children in ministry for 26 years... None of us are worthy to be used of God. I don't justify anyone's negative actions, but God used Mrs. Keifer to set me on a path of ministry that I have followed continually since that day. I am writing this, because I dreamed of Karen Yesterday. I never have before. She was happy and full of God's love. Just thought this could be an encouragement to those of us from Colchester that loved her.

Karen Suzanne Keifer
Karen Suzanne Keifer, 30, of Bozrah, beloved
mother, daughter, sister, auntie and best friend,
went home to fall into the hands of the Lord Tuesday,
Nov. 11. She was born June 21, 1978, a gift
from God, to beloved father Alvin Clinton Keifer
and mother Caroline Kress.
She had been recently living in Bozrah but grew
up in Colchester with her best friend Kimberly
Palmer and her family. She was a dedicated member
of Curtis Corner Baptist Church in Wakefield,
RI. She attended school at Bacon Academy in
Colchester.
She also enjoyed working as an independent
painter for 2 Girls Painting. She loved the outdoors,
painting, playing piano, dancing, singling
and laughing until your stomach hurt. She loved
her friends and family unconditionally with all
her heart. She had a smile that was like sunshine
that would brighten any room. She will be sadly
missed, but in all in our hearts forever. She was a
true friend to everyone.
Karen is survived by her grandfather, Alvin
Clinton Keifer Sr.; her father Alvin “Clint” and
stepmother Janice Keifer; her mother Caroline and
stepfather Thomas Kress; her beloved son, Christopher
Czekala whom she adored and loved with
all of her heart and several aunts, uncles, cousins
and friends who all loved her dearly.
She was predeceased by her only brother Brian
Clinton Keifer, her grandmother Lorna “Polly”
Brant-Keifer and recently her aunt Victoria M.
Schmid.
We all have comfort in knowing she is in the
arms of God and her brother Brian. May we all
meet again in Heaven in the arms of our Lord.
A prayer service to celebrate Karen’s life will
be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m. at Linwood
Cemetery on Linwood Cemetery Road in
Colchester. Following the service will be a gather
in honor of Karen at her home at 62 Hough Rd.,
Bozrah.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a
trust fund in the name of her son, Christopher
Czekala. They may be sent to 62 Hough Rd.,
Bozrah. Thank you all and God Bless.
