That hospital is full of nurses who have no clue of what they are doing! I'll drive to Conway or Searcy before going to Heber.

they also do a lot of good. So, just wondering, what was wrong with you? You're still alive to write this, so it must not have been life threatening. Guess they knew what they were talking about after all :)

I think we have a wonderful hometown hospital, I have had several surgical procedures, lab, rad and been inpatient before. I got the most caring, most competent nurses ever! I was an impatient at White Co Med Ctr and was treated poorly and never ever saw a nurse for hours upon hours at a time.

We are lucky in this small town to have a hospital as good as BHMCHS. My family has been to the ER numerous times and always get good care. We have a great outpatient clinic that keeps us from having to drive to Searcy, Conway or LR. I've had surgery there as well as other services not found in a town this small. I've also been an inpatient there with wonderful care. A lot of the people who complain are the ones looking to get narcotic meds but who get sent home with tylenol because the doctors know they are just looking for a fix.

A year ago this month my mom was taken to the e.r twice in one week for stomach swelling and both times was released claiming that everything was ok. 48 hours later she became non responsive and was taken to baptist in little rock and was immediatly put on life support. The doctor comes out and tells the family that he was sorry she had liver and kidney failure and that it was a mistake for her to have been released from the hospital in the first place. 3 days later she passed away. Now you tell me how smart those people are. Never ever will I ever take anyone up there ever again.

My grandmother had a stroke and we called for 911 and they first sent her to Baptist up here because she was at work and no one knew at the time it was a stroke. Baptist sent her home saying she was fine. They even refused to do any tests. We drove her straight to Little Rock where she was kept and Little Rock knew exactly what had happened and also pointed out that she showed signs of being paralyzed on one side from waist down. Now was my grandma looking for a quick fix?

You are stupid cause the people looking for a quick fix can find it cheaper on the streets. Heber baptist is a joke.

I went there once at the old building and the Dr.(Salado??) told me to call him when I figure out what is wrong with me b/c he had never seen such a thing. Not kidding one bit!

It's like no matter what state you you live in. People always think they will get better care elsewhere.
The people that live in Heber go to a hospital in Searcy. The people that live in Searcy won't use Searcy and go to Little Rock. The people that live in Little Rock will only use Memphis. And the funny thing is many of the doctors that practice at Baptist health in Heber will have certain days that they practice in either Searcy and or Little Rock, or Conway so in many cases, its the same doctor, only a different location.
All hospitals have horror stories and I'm sure Baptist in Heber is no different, but I've used Baptist in Heber on several occasions with my kids and never had a complaint. The emergency room waits are usually very short compared to the times in the past that I've used White County.
Retired Nurse

I moved here from a large city and have never worked at Baptist Heber. I have however, had out- patient procedures done there and couldn't have asked for better treatment and care.

My mother has been a patient at Baptist in Little Rock, as well as Baptist/Heber.

While it is true that Baptist/LR is able to offer more specialities as far as surgeons and such, I have to say that my mother received far better nursing care at Baptist/Heber than she has EVER received in Little Rock.
I am a retired nurse and I know good nursing care when I see it.

The nurses here were experienced, professional, kind and they always came to Mother's room quickly when they were needed. Sure, some were better than others but that is the case no matter what hospital you go to.

As far as the ER in Heber.....my family has had both good experiences and bad. There again, that can happen in most hospitals but I certainly saw some things that could be improved upon.

I have found if I had a complaint or a problem that Ed Lacy, Adminstrator was very willing to listen and do anything he could to help.

Baptist health is a great place to go. I work there and have been a patient there also before I was employed. The nurses and doctors know exactly what's going on and will keep you there till they find out what's goin on. The nurses do an excellent job doing what they can to make the patients and family comfortable while doing everything else. I can guarentee you from experience if you go to any other er the wait time is a minimum of 3-4 hours where Heber gets u back ASAP. The inpatient unit nurses do a great job too. We have 3 nurses covering 25 beds upstairs and 3 nurses covering 7 er rooms. Next time you think about bashing stuff like this think about whether or not u can do it. It's not as easy as you think. We do our best! As to the statement about the narcotic seekers, I agree. The ones who get mad bc they are sent home with Tylenol or naproxen are seekers. Doctors know what to give people and do care about patients. They also work in Searcy lr, nlr, and other places you say you'd rather go to

They do not get you in fast at the ER. They're extremely slow.. There might be a nurse or two who are nice, and know their job. But, overall it sucks.. My aunt went there for a stroke in which the DR tried to send her home.. She couldn't walk, And couldn't use one side of her body.. The Dr was a pathetic excuse for a dr.. I feel bad for those they've sent home, and needed to be cared for..

That hospital just sucks. Go to Searcy, Conway or little rock. Unless you're dying and heber will do.
