How is it that an entire family and several area youths are federally indicted for selling bath salts and there is absolutely no mention of it in the Sun Times? This news has made it as far as the San Francisco Chronicle and I am sure it will be picked up by more news agencies. What has the Sun Times become? It can hardly be considered a newspaper anymore. Newsletter is more like it.

The story did run in The Sun-Times when the family was busted in 2011, it's not new news...the legal proceedings have taken forever.

According to the news, they were indicted on July 11, 2012. A grand jury indictment seems to be newsworthy enough to be distibuted over the AP, but the hometown news totally ignores it.

We regret to inform you that we was unable to put the report of the grand jury inditement about the family who takes baths in salt. There were not enough room in the paper as the story about the Ladys Homemaker Socity was very long. Also the report about the high school football boy throwing up in praktis was continude to the next page. We will try to do better nekst time. As you no our motto is "All the news we want to print".

Read the Sun Times to night. I wish they would write an article on why the new Public Works Supervisor resigned.( I believe that's the correct job title. If not, someone please correct me). Enquiring minds want to know.

They probably don't even know it yet. Besides, the picture of the old junky rides for the Old Soldiers Reunion took half of the front page while an article about somebody crocheting took the other half.

For a town this size I have not seen a better sports section. The rest is mostly garbage.

Yes they do have a good sports section. Will Gilbert does a good job with the sports. Now, if the Sun-Times would hire someone to report on what our local government is doing with the enthusiasm that Will Gilbert pursue sports, then we would have a great local paper

Just a little sarcasm. Yes, I'm sure they know. I did see a letter to the editor today criticizing them for a recent article. I'm surprised they published the letter.

What do ya'll know about Will Gilbert getting thrown out of a softball game about a year ago by an ump for trying to take pictures inside the fence?
I believe the story goes Will Gilbert thought since he had a camera he could be apart of the field like the umpires and coaches are and when the ump tried to explain foul balls etc and the possibility of him hindering the action he then argued and was thrown out and then wrote a personal column about it in the suntimes. By what I've heard he was completely in the wrong and should have been behind the fence and the newspaper should have never allowed a personal revenge attack.
He puts good pictures in the paper but I'll assure you that he or anyone else at the suntimes is not all that and then some.

For years, before Wii Gilbert started reporting sports, local sports reporters were on the baseball and softball fields inside the fence reporting sports. All they're doing inside the fence is taking pictures of local youth and putting the pictures in the paper along with an article about the game. A kid seeing their picture in the paper with their name in the article makes them feel good about themselves. So that's what Will was doing inside the fence, helping kids. There are some umpires who get intoxicated by the power they have as an umpire. And I believe this to be the case in this situation. I know the umpire who through Will out.

Will was there for the kids and the umpire was showing the world his awesome power as a high school umpire.
In fact of business, the umpire is probably the one brought this incident up.

Sorry I can't the paper staff seriously after a recent article claimed the football team made a "360". The correct phrase would have been that they made a "180". If you make a 360 degree turn you are right back where you started :)
