It is a pleasure to see the Democrats are opposing the closing of the seven parks. I think everyone should be against such an act.For many of us the parks are our souce of a "getaway."We find rest, quiet time and many varies reasons for being at the serene places referred to as parks. Those that have stated these places should be closed has no doubt visited one. They are total strangers to this type of enterainment.
Those who may read this message I know you have nothing but good thoughts about keeping our parks open and ready for us.
Please send messages to Okie City and anyone you know to let them know what you think about the idea they would even consider our being without these facilities.May God touch those who want to do this and make them realize our very real needs .

I don't think so !!! The Democrats can "oppose" the closing of the state parks all they want...what are they actually going to do to find the money to keep them open ??

This isn't a party issue. Dems and Reps alike use the parks. I hate the party bickering.

Bud was a fine state rep and is a great man, Bennett is also a fine state rep and a great man. Sequoyah county is fortunate to have had two wonderful men representing them in okc.

Parks and Tourism couldn't manage squat. Look at the history of everything Oklahoma has fouled up when it comes to the recreation and tourism industry in this state. Texoma Lodge? Arrowhead Lodge? State Parks? Good lord! They always find money to hire croonie friends and put their buds on the payroll but they couldn't manage to find enough money to replace a roll of toilet paper in a state park out-house! Oklahoma should send their tourism folks over to Arkansas for training. Those razorbacks know what it takes to get the tourist and recreation dollars.

And,

Saying there isn't enough money to maintain the parks they want to close? Use the damn incarcerated folks that you see cleaning up the sides of the highways in this state. Doesn't take a genius to pull together inmates to keep the places up and volunteers to staff the parks...
