It seems to me that the people in LRE have a choice. They can move or they can pay the rate. This forum is to discuss the city of Rockwall water rates from the past meeting in city hall. Go whine somewhere else, or whine to whom ever you whined to before the dreaded annexation. Matt Scott only pushed the annexation to get your vote in case he had a challenger for the spot on the council. Sort of like Obamma wanted the poor people to have shots first, or to have health insurance or to have the vote from AARP or anybody else he considers that doing a "Favor" for will keep him in office or Hillary if that dreaded day ever comes again. Get smart LRE residents. There is a reason your rates are the same as before.

The continued interest in putting sole blame on Matt Scott amazes me. In the 80's to be a Republican was to be conservative, it was to have a vision and grow leadership and to promote morals and what is right. God came first.

You would change your tune if you paid $120 base charge for water and sewer plus additional charges for the water you used. Oh yes, you would be singing out of the other side of your mouth.

Aqua Texas is sucking at least $40,000-$50,000 out of LRE for the base charges and sending it out of state or God knows where. Be "self supporting"? That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard on topix, and that says a lot.

How do you expect anyone, LRE or otherwise, to build roads, sewer, etc? I think it would be unlawful for anyone to start rebuilding a CITY-owned road. The water and sewer service is leased and therefore the residents have zero choice who provides it, we are at the mercy of the company or whomever owns the right-to-serve. And the lake management is up to the state and feds, no one including the city can do anything about it.

Are you self supporting? Or do you suck the teat of the city as well?
