Alcongright does NOT control the press-- if anything they control him--he doesn't bark snarl and threaten the press--Barrett did--they love DA--he's such a nice guy---how could he do anything wrong????--he wants to be adored by everyone--even Cardimino
Wrong Clarkie,he controls the press and owns them. When have you ever heard of a Mayor being in office for three years and never getting a negative editorial. As far as controling he controls everything in city government down to the type of toilet is bought which is why nothing gets done. One thing you are right about is that is the sweet act he plays ever so well. He can be a mean SOB as those in his family past and present know. Recently Alcombright called the state complaining about one of their employees who wrote a negative comment about him on Facebook. I hear the guy had his job threatened if he did not remove the post.Got to give Alcombright his due he knows how to stroke people and he gets away with anthing he wants.

And, just because it is written, does not make it true.

Vote YES for Conte.

OMG! He picked out a toilet!! What an insane tyrant!

What you don't know about JB3, or more likely, what you pretend to not know, is that he would even pick out paint colors for businesses, call your boss, humiliate you in a speech, demand to see you in his office, etc... Businesses would call him to get permission to fire his friends when they screwed up, because John had "suggested" that these people get hired in the first place. And this is only the beginning of the list of his arm twisting.

That's because a significant portion of our population is a bunch of selfish a##holes. Selfish for political reasons. Selfish for "no kids" reasons. Selfish for ego reasons. Selfish for business reasons.

A few people have pure motives in this debate, but not many.

Of course a few more are just insane, but mostly we are just a selfish, money grubbing, "all for me, none for thee" kind of town.

The rest of the state thinks we're stupid.... and they are correct.

While I agree that a few of the people against this project are selfish assholes, I believe that there are many more people who are confused about what the options are. I keep hearing that it would be better to build a new hi-tech school, and while this would be the best thing, it really is not an option right now. The Conte project could begin almost immediately at a cost of about $6 million to the N.A. taxpayers, while a new school would take years to be designed and built at a cost that could be tens of millions of dollars more for the N.A. taxpayer.

Oh cantankerous one, you must have missed where I wrote that this is the only option available right now. There are always options for in the [far] future.
