Officer Mantello has been on paid leave since December 10th?

Why has it taken this long, to put this story in the newspaper?

"Don't tase me BRO!" Sounds like he should have left the taser on the drunk for sometime. It is such bull when officers do their jobs and they get in trouble for it. I say, The drunk was excessive in his actions and the police did what
was needed to gain control of him.

This ain't the kind of thing they write press releases about or like to spread around. Hasn't been in court either.

In our society police officers are guilty until proven innocent. I know they are held to a higher standard, but they should be held to the same standards. They have their handsfull in that town if drunks and losers are allowed to pull this brutality crap eventually all offcers will be on paid adminstrative leave for not tollerating the disrespectful and the ignorant. Control over these types has to be maintained and there is no reasonaing with a drunk or a crackhead.

Sounds to me like these new, young officers think they can do anything they want just because they have a uniform and a badge...well, I hope this teaches them a lesson, that even they can't act like robocop and get away with it.

Remember that when God forbid they need to subdue some clown for you or your family. You will be glad the Taser is on full power!

Let's think about this... the drunk individual had crapped on a door mat, had it all over the back of his pants, was combative and resisted arrest at the scene and then again at the Police Dept. He even kicked an Officer. I think they had every right to use the Taser... they warned him and he kept it up. Sorry pal, but if you disagree with a police officer, deal with it in Court. Its not a smart move to disagree with force! Just remember, the Officer didn't use his gun, only his Taser!

Actually, they ARE different. When was the last time you faced a life or death situation? Have you been trained in lifesaving techniques? Are you completely knowledgeable about laws keeping the community safe? When you are in Williamstown having a coffee in your car while talking on your cell phone and are attacked, smashed into, shot at, have a heart attack, or see someone being assaulted what are YOU going to do? Freak out? Hang up that phone and dial 911? You going to be able to perform lifesaving techniques on yourself or the person you see dying? How about if something of yours gets stolen? You going to be able to handle that yourself? Or are you going to be THE COMPLETE HYPOCRITE that you appear to be and call the police? I would bet money that that's EXACTLY what you will do. Are you one of those people who complains about farmers with food in your mouth, too? Bet you are. HYPOCRITE. By the way, what's wrong with having a police department with officers under the age of 30 ?!?! Doesn't your small mind compute the fact that younger=stronger and faster. Duh!!!!!

I totally agree. It sounds like the drunkass loser had a history of violence, he beat up his girlfriend. He was also so drunk that he crapped himself. He deserved everything he got. Nice police work.

What a waste of the taxpayers money.
My maternity leave didn't even last that long and I had to use my vacation, holiday, sick time, etc. Maybe I should have been a cop, lol.
