You were a horible city councilman, who did only what that dictaor Barrett told you to do. The only good rhing you did for the area, is move. Now that you did one thing right, try to do one more and get a new life.
Barrett never asked me for a vote or told me how to vote--outside of the infamous Gang of Five in the 1980's I probably voted no on Barrett initiatives more than any other Councilor---OK - now jerkweed identify your self and tell us what you have done for the area---come on please don't be such a coward- let's see your credentials--or just STFU

as to the original question== who is running for City Council?? I don't know-- BUT possibly Marie and Al may not run--they've served their time-- so to speak---but a lot will depend on who else runs--------Al was close to not running two years ago-- but got some very encouraging support and ran again--as for the others-- question is if the first timers want to give it a go----it could well be a full field of incumbents---and who could break into that set---to me it would only be someone with solid community name and contacts and come from a positive standpoint--that would take Cardimino- Trottier and Cil out of the equation--any questions??

slight buzz is that Bob Moulton will run for Mayor--fools errand-- too tied to obviously Boucher and then to Barrett--and by default to Cardimino and Trottier--sure he's got good community ties and name recognition--but he is not close to the "newbies" artsy fartsy community after his naked Rudd painting gaffe---still don't know what the estrangement between he and DA is===Bob was very active in DA's 2009 campaign--and turned around for 2011---maybe Eric Rudd will run again

I know you think you're on top of things in NA Clark but much has changed since your departure. Though the Alcombright groupies like to make people believe that their boy Dick is loved it is not true. He has been a very poor Mayor and even the art community is no longer buying into his bluster. Barrett may have been tough but he got things done and knew how to make a decision something Alcombright can't do. He has lost his base and just barely won the Conte School vote which should have passed 65-35 with the money they spent. Moulton will probably run as Barrett and Bosley have no interest as Dick continues to run the city into economic chaos. Read the audit on the city's web site to see how bad things have gotten since he took office. The way things are going I wouldn't sell Moulton or anyone else short for that matter as city voters are fed up with Alcombright and his spend and tax policy. Many of those who voted for him now know they made a mistake. City workers have no respect for the mayor and they just do as they please. His secretary is out more than she is in and it is not uncommon to see the Mayor's office closed. Montepare spends most of his day buying antiques and stocking his store while his secretary runs the day to day operation of the school department. We now have more people than ever walking around in their PJ's all day in North Adams. The city is broke and in today's paper Alcombright says the city does not have a spending problem but a revenue problem. Translation, get ready for higher taxes and fees so he can pay for the raises he has passed out. This city today is nothing like the city you left four years ago and it continues its downhill slide with each passing day. Moulton regardless of his lack of finesse, will give Alcombright a battle as people are sick of him and they may not give him that third term he needs to collect a nice pension. As he told so many people four years ago he just wanted three terms for a good pension and then he was off to Arizona. He may be going sooner than he thinks.

Nice spin job! You sound like JB3! Very few left on your side with the ability to put multiple sentences together coherently! I really hope that Dick does win this term and then heads off into the Arizona sunset! He deserves it and has earned it! Vote Alcombright in 2013! Then watch while it finally comes together!

Hey what do you know - another literate person agreeing with this post. I have to say, as a former Alcombright supporter, I could not agree more with this post. North Adams is presently in serious condition and I too have heard from many who work for the City just how fed up they are. What we need to do is stop bashing the past mayor as well as the present mayor and look at this situation and figure out how to correct it. I know that many people were wronged by the former mayor and they do this day are the ones who are so forthcoming with their love for the present mayor but all must realize that we have a serious situation here which is only getting worse. What we need is a strong leader to kick things back into shape - Who? Right now I do not know. But the fact is, though Alcombright supporters do not want to admit it, things are very bad presently in North Adams and something has to change. So let us stop the back and forth about how great or how bad he is and let us instead concentrate on the problem at hand.
