Bosley is sitting pretty right now. Professor at MCLA, Non Profit Board, and collecting a State Pension. Why would he want to get onto a sinking ship?
As far as I can ascertain he is not a full timer at MCLA----couldn't be and still collect state pension--probably teaches a course or two with an adjunct's stipend per course--which might be somewhere between $3-4000-per course -I also understand that he is no longer associated with the DeRosa/MoCA development group |

Judged: 2 2 1 Alcombright has no deal and he knows nothing about Crane's plans. It is ashame what is happening in North Adams as the city continues going downhill. He promised us jobs and after three years there are no new jobs. Alcombright is in over his head and it will take years for North Adams to recover. The only thing he is good at is spending money and raising taxes. |
Judged: 2 2 spend money and raise taxes? sounds like the former mayor...but alcombright doesn't have a medical insurance trust fund to underfund and 'raid', at $800,000 a year like the former mayor |
Judged: 1 1 1 One problem "poor moron" there never was the missing $800,000 as the poor Dickie claimed. It was a miracle as all of a sudden it appeared when the account was closed. Alcombright steals from the non-union employees while he passes out big raises for his friends. Bloom will be next to get a job and story is it will be at Housing Authority. Now we know why he pounds the gavel so hard when Barrett tries to speak. You're a poor simple moron if you continue to believe Alcombright as he continues his aimless leadership of North Adams. It has been three years since he took over and he has given us two thigs, a sewer fee and higher taxes. |

Judged: 1 1 1 scanlon associates audited the medical insurance trust fund and found a shortfall. this is the link: http://northadams.massteacher.org/files/insre... the money that you say 'appeared' when the account was closed, was the amount that was required by the state as a 'runout' in case there were any late arriving medical bills. I specifically watched the city council meeting when scanlon appeared, and stated there was a shortfall in the account. the former mayor, now councilor never challenged scanlon when he stated there was a shortfall in the city's side of the funding, nor did he challenge scanlon when the auditor stated that the city should have given a reductiuon in rates, or a 'payment holiday' to cover the city's underfunding. In fact, the former mayor tried to brush off the scanlon report, by referring to pittsfield's bigger underfunding of their medical insurance trust fund under the doyle ( i believe) administration. |

Judged: 1 1 I assure you that Mike Bloom wants no part of the Housing Authority! Plus, the current administrator is doing a great job! |

He wants a job, not the head job, just one that will give him a nice pension. Another fool has no idea the games Alcombright and his pals play. It is all about money. |
He doesn't need a pension! He owns a busy bar and lots of real estate! He doesn't need to work for the man! Look for your conspiracy somewhere else! |
Are you for real? Bloom has made it known he needs to get a public job so he can cash in on a nice pension. You do know the city now pays $15,000 a year for his health insurance? Why do you think he protects and defends Alcombright, maybe because Alcombright allows elected officials to cash in on this insurance grab. Its all about the money. |

pension-perhaps--ou et a percentageof your three highest years--and you don't get much if your three
highest years ae based on $3600/year as council Prez--take a $45 grand a year job as facility manager at NAHA-and your pension goes up significantly-also health insurance would be included |

Cardimino's quote after 2011 election. His word is as good as craap. Bob, you say you are for the people. The people voted a dozen other candidates to represent them over you. You are there for yourself, not the people. Who are you fooling? Here was his quote.
But Boucher supporter Robert Cardimino said he was calling it quits and not going to anymore City Council meetings. "They're not going to have Cardimino to kick around anymore," said the disappointed council candidate. |
On top of the $100,000 year Barrett makes in tax payers money in Pittsfield what is his North Adams and mayor's pension? He claims he understands what people are going through. No family to support, and $160,000. He's laughing all the way to extra mart. |
That my be true, but ALL of those public are based on years of service too. The more years that you put in, the higher percentage that you get, and the really good percentages don't start to kick in until you have at least 25 years on the job. Bloom is in his early 50's, I believe, so he won't have enough time on the job to collect a good public pension |
Yup--but he is already in the system-- how many years has he had on Council? |
Do those years count as full years? |
he is in his 12th term. According to an iberkshires article from 2009, he was running for his 11th term in that year. |
I can't remember--because I had 42 years in the state system--and I retired at 68-so I was at max anyway----but it did add about $1200 a year to my pension
Hi,
How many years did you have on the council that contributed this $1200 anually? |
