Did you mean Notre Dame in North Adams which was a satellite for East (Sullivan) School???-those were elementary kids---in this respect Conte is probably better for K-7 than as a middle school--fewer kids on bikes on Main St. and atking up space on benches-- while leaning their bikes up against store windows--this is a different parental culture today-- helicopter parents hoping that their precious snowflakes don't melt---even on the college level--chill out parents-- chill out----of course maybe theparents are too young to remember the term---- chill out
I was actually referring to the old Notre Dame Catholic school in Adams, but the East School Annex in North Adams is another example of a downtown school. I notice that no one has refuted my position on why a downtown school is NOT a problem. Faced with examples that make the point, the nay-sayers go into hiding.

Nice try but you are the same dirtbag that posts you exploits with you mother. It takes a real sick person to do that and I believe you should not be posting it via you fake names. What kind of degenerate are you anyway?

This is not about taxes- there should be no tax increase and it can be covered within the existing budget==the oposition comes essentially from parents (particularly in the Sullivan School area) who do not want elementary age kids so close to downtown and on a well traveled street---and those "antis" who oppose everything the Mayor wants to do
then how come, for the last three years he taxed us to death.

jb did give out fat raises to his friends, and raises to himself including the approximately $5,000 earned or unearned expense account,(funny how cardimino complains about the 500 stipend that the council gets, but not a word about it when jb got THOUSANDS when he was mayor), I also heard that jb put non city employees on the insurance rolls when he was mayor.

You're all a bunch of fools. Of course Barrett raised taxes but not to the amount Alcombright has. Who gave us this wonderful sewer tax, your friend Alcombright. You always talk about how Barrett gave big raises to his friends, name them. By the way Tom L. didn't work for the city. Give it up, Alcombright and his artist friends have sold the people of North Adams out. Now he is forcing a school on us we don't want and don't need. Alcombright controls things and could care less about the people. Look at his personal life and what he did to his family.

I guess Tom L. being head of security at DHS at $10K a year for a no show job isn't working for the city. Then of course he had Tom's tax rate changed to farm land so that he didn't have to pay regular taxes.
Then of course there's Jeff Polucci who got his heart surgery paid for by the city. Those are just the one's that I know about.
Is that naming enough for you?

Don't forget that Barrett drained the rainy day accounton Dec. 31st to cover his fat ass in mistakes,(like the health ins), that he knew would all come to light, once he got voted out.

Dick A. has more integrity,(he had his mother removed from the insurance rolls because he knew that it wasn't right), in his little finger then JBIII ever had-- you're just too ignorant or blind to see it.

Mr.Polucci was a member of the alcohol licensing commission in N.A. Is that not working for the city and shouldn't he have been eligible for city insurance coverage? A little research on your part would have shown you this and calls into question any of your claims.

You may be correct. But I doubt it.
Most city boards do not qualify for city insurance.

You really are a clown. As you refer to him, Tom L never received one penny for any security job and your statement is libilous. Even more libilous is your claim the Assesor and state gave Tom L an illegal tax break, serious charge. Also Barrett couldn't move any money without city council approval. What is really amusing is that your pal Dick kept all Barett's finance people. Give it up please Alcombright has been Mayor for three plus years and his claim to fame is he gave us a sewer fee, a tax break to Time Warner, electric company and his buddy Rudd. Alcombright is a disaster who has no integrity. He got his former secretary at Hoosac bank a job and then hired her husband in the city yard, neither job whic was not posted. He let Commissioner Lescarbeau hire a relative at the water plant and his son in law at the city yard. You want to see proof how Alcombright lied to the people of North Adams go back and watch the debates with Barett. How is the Mohawk Theater coming along after three years? The guy is a big nothing, except he sure knows how to con people.

I gave the citizens the sewer fee--at least put it in the mind of the City Council- and actually every Mayor- Lamb-Barrett and Alcombright--and I am proud of it

If that was the case Clark why didn't you introduce it while you were a member of the City Council? Guess that shows Barrett and Lamb were more responsible than Alcombright, and you were smart enough not to do it. You knew someday there would be a stupid City Council and a not too bright Mayor who would pass a sewer fee.

Why didn't I introduce as a formal agenda item--right- smart enough to know it wouldn't go anywahere--could never get enough votes and even if I did- Mayor would veto it-----but when Barrett left office he told the Council they would have to look at everything in finances even a sewer fee---

Clark I think you're mixed up as to who said what. It was Alcombright who made comment about sewer fee needing to be looked at. Barrett repeated several that he would not put in a sewer fee. The debates that year backs this up. Whether you had votes or not you should have pushed it if you believed it. To take credit for it now is a little lame, but you don't have to face the people of North Adams anymore. Hope your wife is doing well.

Thanks for inquiring about Janice-- she was in the hospital for a week a couple of weeks ago-- is home and doing pretty well----what I do remember is that JBIII did suggest looking at a sewer fee- as he was leaving office---after the 2009 election--or so it said in the press---he may have during the campaign said no to a fee-- but after he was defeated after the campaign and election were over he did suggest considering it-----it was not a cause worth fighting for and losing--which would have been the case in terms of submitting an agenda item for a formal vote--but I did needle JBIII more than once from the Council floor on the issue--my claim now is lame?????? that is not true--- gimpy for sure but not completely lame--I had planted the seed-- and like Topsy- she just growed
