That's hilarious! A "good cop" wouldn't have done this.

There are VERY few good cops. Maybe 1 in 10.

Respect her for the PD, but criminal behavior (DUI) is unforgivable. Tarnished by a stupid move...that's all it takes.

heres my problem, the media, the paper, and law enforcement did a major cover up., we all felt bad for her and thought something mysterious happened. we were dooped. was there a big funeral? did the funeral cost "any" city or county money for security? if yes, i demand this get reimbursed by the idiots that authorized it. bottom line is the first responder knew she was plastered when they arrived on scene..18 must have made the crime scene smell like a trash can in a bar. disgusted by the previous lies from TWO months ago

What a joke!!! A good cop would have called a fellow PD member to give her a ride home instead of getting behing the wheel. She injured my family in the car accident. I thank God that none of them died. Isn't she supposed to be the one reporting to the accident and not the one causing the accident? And on or off duty, she still took an oath to protect and serve. That night, she wasn't doing either of those things.

Because she was off duty that gives her the right to break the law? Unbelievable!!
Your dumb as they come, she was a human being, she choose to drive drunk, the police did not tell her to drive drunk. In any profession, people don't think right from wrong when they drink, and drive. Have a good day Pachito villa, stay away from Arizona.

He said he had not yet seen the coroner's report, and he hadn't found any other evidence to suggest Montalvo was drunk at the time of the collision.

There was no smell of alcohol at the crash scene, Rodriguez said.

Come on Dude you can tell you're covering up a mile a way..

Cop generally equals criminal behavior. I sure as heck am not going to have any respect for her as a cop.

Another drunk cop...Would of got away with it too had she not died. Everyone else gets DWI and their names trashed. I guess it was justified.

Yeah, I'm really glad it was the drunk who paid with her life and not someone else. It's usually the other way around.

If only MORE of these (where the drunk driver gets KILLED-regardless of profession!) could happen (as opposed to an innocent SOBER driver/pedestrian!). Drunk and drugged drivers deserve DEATH! PERIOD!

No more so than texters. Idiots think that because they haven't had an accident, they can do it safely.

The same as cop abuse doesn't have to escalate to actual physical violence, it doesn't have to result in an accident for it to be unsafe.

I know im going to get negative comments on this but i am going to say this anyways, Freedom of Speech:
Did it ever occur to anyone that just maybe, a slight possiblility that this particular officer might have been targeted for murder, that this was a set up to kill her cause she might have had information on someone else due to a drug bust. I am not defending her in any way, but weigh all the possibilities, she is an eleven yr veteran with an impeccable career as a LAPD, i know Internal Investigations will go over this with a fine tooth comb if they are on their JOB.

I think you've seen too many movies.:-)

I will admit anything is possible. But the odds of that scenario are up there with the odds of winning the lottery.

Something else I notice regarding cops. You ever notice that they always talk on their cell phones, always held up to their left ear while driving with impunity??? I guess bluetooths or handsfree devices don't apply to them?
