Hey does anyone know why Mr. Cardimino has not been to the last two city council meetings?
Cardimino was at this past tuesdays council meeting. He had his "ears" on, but didn't get up to speak either at the beginning or the end.

So, you attended from begining to end? Or, just an observation from tv? Just wondering :)

Listen to yourselves! Your lives are so empty that you're watching local access to see if a stupid old coot like Bob Cardimino was at a City Council meeting. Don't you people have hobbies? Children? Jesus H. Christ, North Adams gets worse by the day. This is what counts for excitement in your lives? Losers.

I have a life! I watch the city council meeting EVERY OTHER WEEK when they are broadcast. There is no reason that I shouldnt. I do like to know what is going on in my city and if you feel I am a loser because of this, I feel bad for you! I talk with some of the council members when I have a question. To me, it's people who dont take part in the city that are the losers!

Some people watch the Council meetings in order to know what's going on in the City---the Mayor gave his State of the City address--which may have been same o same o--but it was nevertheless an important statement----the issue about Cardimino (and Trottier for what matter) was that they DIDN'T speak at all--that's sort of like NEWS---I don't think people watch the Council meetings to see what Bender is going to do or say---the viewers by in large are civic minded citizens---and you jerkweed are WHAT???

Apparently DeRosa is looking into being able to put the ballot question on the State's US Senate primary scheduled for April--that election will be held anyway and getting the Contequestion on that ballot would save the City about $6000---if that is disallowed- that means either a special election yet to be determined or the next municipal election in November 2013

Have you heard anything about the signatures being verified? Do they have enough legitimate signatures? What a bad downfall for this city! I hope these few people will be proud of themselves when the funding gets lost and the children of this city pay the price.

Registrars have 5 days to certify-with 1800 high odds that there will be enough valid signatures

This really blows! Sometimes I wonder why I still live in this city. I have never heard of a place where the residents will do anything to make things so much more difficult than they have to be. I know, I'm sure there are other places too, but this is just so disappointing to me. I wish my husband would retire and we can get the hell out of here! LOL

Downtown is no place for the little children. Most people are for a new school just not that school. The Mayor lost sight of what was best for the children when he found out he could get the free money to deal with that dead building. They couldn't give that building away. That should tell you something. They paid big money to an educational consultant ( Mr. Locke) who told them the conte building was not the best choice. They ignored him and the people in their lust to deal with that dead building.

why doesn't north adams use conte as the high school again? use the current high school as the elementary school. then the little children would not be downtown.

It's ok for kids to go to the library downtown, but not to school? It was ok for them to go to school there up until a few years ago, but not now? Whatever you say, genius.

All you nay-sayers can tell me that is more safe to be in a secluded area for small children? You certainly can't get more secluded than Sullivan School. And I remember very well years ago there was an axe episode at that school. Yes I was only little then, but I do remember seeing the picture of that poor lady on the front page of the Transcript with the axe stuck in her back. That really made for a safe environment for the young children didn't it?

why not? why is this not possible? why have i not seen this idea before? i do not see why this is not possible. it was a high school before, correct? it already has a new design plan correct? why can't it be done for the high school kids? why can't the current high school be used as an elementary school?

the high school kids could still use the fields & locker rooms. it seems possible and it would satisfy the parents that do not want their little ones in the center of the city. it was just an idea. i haven't seen anyone else that opposes conte coming up with anything.
