He said there were no technology rooms on the first floor when the plans show two technology rooms.

Word is he and Bosely will mount a referendum campaign to overturn it. Need signatures from 12% of registered voters to put it on the ballot.

He said the city shouldn't build a school because the city has low MCAS scores. They had low MCAS scores when Brayton and Drury were renovated under his leadership. Drury was renovated when the state red flagged the city for poor tests.

"He" can't tolerate anyone else's opinion or knowledge. He's simply a more educated Cardimino.

and so many lies from councilor barrett. all of the meetings of the school buil;ding committee were posted...he claims 'maybe one was'...perhaps he thinks he is still mayor, when nobody in the city knew what was going on.

Most opposition to the school is simply vindictive in nature with no basis in reality. If another plan had been chosen, these same people would be opposed to that. Obstructionists all. That's all they care about.

I think I have posted this some months back---Section 42 of the City Charter which pertains to referenda reads as follows (Caps) are mine

"If, within twenty days after the final passage of any measure, EXCEPT A REVENUE LOAN ORDER, by the city council..."

the section goes on to describe the procedure for the ballot question

That being said--in my judgment- a "revenue load order" and a "borrowing order" are one in the same- therefore- if I am correct- there can be no referendum on this issue--I certainly wouldn't want to be the one to discourage Cardimino and Trottier from standing out in the cold and snow trying to get 12% of the registered voters signatures on a petition that will not be approved by the Secretary of State

Yes I know that's what he said--and he has more years experience operating under a Plan A Charter than I do----but I posted what the Charter says----and it's possible that I am right and he is wrong--a simple call to the Secretary of State's office should clarify

Not arguing, just relaying..........Breen didn't say much last night and voted for it. Was surprised. Lisa voted for it too but that could be explained away with a few big macs that were sent her way

. No way anyone gets nearly 1000 signatures to put this on the ballot. It's the end of January. It's cold. Never gonna happen. People aren't going to vote against a school.

How about a one flight school like Williamstown to start in a neighborhood. Just one idea. I am sure you will shoot it down

Reasonable people can disagree over the Content project, but people had more than enough time to go to a myriad of meetings, to contact councilors, contact the Mayor, to voice their opinion about the project. The mayor won. The opponents lost. Move on.
