How can Berkshire fuel sell oil cheaper than all the other oil companies in Berkshire county? Who are they to set the market. Nice try Berkshire fuel or should I say nice try mass sav more. How can one oil company spin of another and sell the oil in the same bulk storage tank at two different prices. I will stick with my current family run oil company of over 40 years.

Hmmmm I bet the BBB would like to buy what your selling....

HMMMMM, WE WONDER THE SAME...HOW CAN MASS ENERGY/SAV MORE CHARGE ONE PRICE TO THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS AND THEN HAVE ANOTHER PRICE FOR THE SO CALLED "NEW COMPANY" CALLED BERKSHIRE FUEL???? ANY CONCERNED CITIZEN CAN SIT IN FRONT OF MASS ENERGY AND WATCH THE BERKSHIRE FUEL TRUCK DRIVE IN AND OUT. YEAH, WE WILL STICK WITH OUR HONEST, TRUSTWORTHY FAMILY OWNED COMPANY AS WELL!

I know for fact if you call around and you get a lower price some where oil express will match it and drop another 2 Cents of the price and most of the time you get 5 -10 dollars off your order with the coupons they leave you

I can't imagine why anyone from NH cares what is going on in Berkshire County???
As a senior citizen (retired mechanic)even I know none of the oil companies in our county sell sludge I mean really just google "sludge" Steve and you will see like car engines(they can get sludge) tanks require maintence to prevent sludge build up. And just so you know Steve, tankers deliver oil to various folks in the county who use the product, not just oil companies. Kudos to all good locally owned businesses and thank goodness Steve lives in NH!!

I tried calling oil express and they wouldn't match the price, so i don't know if your special or something but they said they couldn't take that much of a loss,(or profit loss).

Some people on this board seem a bit clueless - you pay more for Mass Energy because of the level of service - they monitor the heating days, they schedule deliveries so you don't have to, they have full time staff to answer questions, they will bill you, they are available 24/7 for an emergency, etc. etc. etc.

All these services cost money.

There is nothing shady about Berkshire Fuel offering a different business model and selling from the same tanks. They offer absolutely none of those services and so can sell cheaper - it is up to you what level of service you want -

my mother in law is not going to keep track of her oil tank - and needs people to talk to figure out the bills - Mass Energy for her.

I need none of that and will risk that my 5 year old system will not have a problem that I can't live with for a few days - Berkshire Fuel for me.

your choice

did it ever occur to anyone that prices could be cheaper because customers are required to pay BEFORE the oil is delivered. Carrying delinquent accounts is costly to ANY company
