Bob C. is saying that signing means that it just brings it to the voters for a vote. The petition does not give info... neither does the man. He explains it as... "signing only brings it to the citizens for a vote". When asked specific questions about the children that will be attending & Conte school financial questions, he says that he is not sure. I asked. Lol! Now he knows where Lisbeth Salandar lives!

Years of work and vetting through hundreds of hours to get the kids a school and get it for the community with 80% paid for. Not good enough for Bender. Cardimino never does ANYTHING positive. He loves attention, and just like a rag newspaper knows that Negative Sells. The guy couldn't care less about the kids. Couldn't care less about anything. Just likes to argue and fight. POS!

Pay, pay, pay your taxes. Never question anything. It's for the children, you understand. The teachers and administrators get all that money and perks because they deserve it. Pay them every penny you've slaved for, damnit.

Here are to: Those strangers that show up when we are seriously hurt and bleeding.

Here are to: Those that come to our defense when we are afraid for our safety and need help.

Here are to: The people that keep our roads safe for us to drive on.

In typical Barrett/Cadimino fashion they are providing limited information about teir petition and become confrontational when presented with fact countering their position. I was asked to sign at BigY and when I said no and presented opposition it was clear to me that this is not about the City's children or the location of school more than it is about simple opposition to anything that is presented.

Sounds like in typical fashion you have a problem with Bob and JB3
and not with the current regime anyway. And yes! They and many others have the kids in mind along with what is best for them and the people footing the bill at the same time.

"TaxMan," your cut&paste about the Governor's "unwillingness to get serious about budget cutting" has what do to with the Conte School petition?? Are you and the other pro-petition people misinforming voters to get petition signatures? Maybe scaring the seniors with the TaxMan boogie? The Conte bond does NOT include tax increases. It DOES include providing Massachusetts taxpayer money to provide a new school environment to a Massachusetts community in a competitive atmosphere. Why not our community???? Why would we want our tax dollars going to build a school in Boston, or Fall River, or Holyoke, or anywhere but here, if we had the choice? And we do have the choice to have that new school HERE, for our kids, in North Adams. Aren't we good enough or needy enough to have new school funding here? We would turn down over $25,000,000 provided from the state and give it to someone else? When is the last time you gave a $25,000,000 winning lottery ticket to someone else?

Won't cost the taxpayers a dime? Where does the money come from that, they would be giving for the school? The pols giving it to us from their own pockets? All money originates from taxpayers.

Thank you Penny for that informed synopsis of your opinion on the Conte School petition topic. I'd give you a Penny for your thoughts, but I'd be getting screwed on that deal. Sorry if I in any way assisted in popping your tax and bate arguments against a school for our children. We can see you are doing just peachy without any education. Still, you can't argue against getting over $25,000,000 GIVEN to our community for a school. As for your phony tax scare, the City's share is covered by an existing budget item for retirement of debt. Smarter people than I (and obviously you) have been working on this issue for years, through countless hours and meetings. They should be commended for their commitment to our community. And you, not so much.

Johnnie, that's the beauty of it. Everyone in the state is paying taxes to the state, but we are being given over $25,000,000 for North Adams. It's about time! It's our turn! There's a line of communities competing for that school money. We can have it here, or we can give it to them. Every year we pay our taxes. Why shouldn't we get a piece of the pie, for US?! The Mayor says Local taxes will not be raised and our portion is covered by debt retirement. You can disagree with that, but me, I'm taking that big chunk of change from the state for US. They ate us up with the Big Dig and all their other priorities out east in la la land. This one's for us.

Oh my. Thought I could ignore responding to your Chrisphobia, but as they say, "a bad Penny always turns up." So, here we go. ME: I'm not Chris. YOU: Yes you are, and your a mo ron. Me: No I'm not, and you should have used "you're," instead of "your." YOU: Yes you are Chris. Me: Why am I arguing with an idiot? So, that is it in a nutshell. Yes Penny, a NUTshell. You can take that personally. Also, if you like, you can call someone a moron, not a mor on. Don't worry, no one will wash your mouth out with soap, and your meaning is clear, so take ownership of it and ditch the subterfuge. I previously gave credit to groups and committees that spent well over three years and numerous meetings working on the many facets of the school solution. I did not say that they, whomever "they" are in your post, were smarter than 99% of the population. YOU said that Penney. At least by leaving 1% of the population aside in your postulation, you left enough room for you. Yes Penney, they are smarter than you, and your hero. As far as defeating the school, and robbing $26,000,000 from North Adams, and dooming our children to old inadequate facilities, goody goody for you. Buy some champagne now to celebrate that victory Penney! Oh yeah Penney, let me say it again for you. I'm not Chris, whomever that is to you. Your turn Penney, tell me again that I am Chris. Good for him to be on the other side of issues from you.
