Drones over Headland ?

Several weeks ago, I was outside enjoying a bit of sunshine. I was looking at the cloud formations when I noticed a glint of silver and figured that it was just a plane going in over at the Dothan airport.

But is I continued looking at the clouds, I noticed that the glinty plane was actually circling over Headland. I live beside a big empty field just outside town, so I have a very clear view of the sky above town. This plane was not doing 'touch and gos' at Dothan or Headland Airport. It was not a crop duster. It stayed airborne the entire time and circled at what looked like the same altitude.

This went on for quite a while, but I finally went back in. Since that time, I have witnessed this same plane circling over Headland at least 3 more times. On different days of the week, at different times of the day. I have not tried checked for lights at night.

Last week, during one of the non-rainy days, I borrowed a neighbors binoculars and was able to get a bit better look at the plane. It sure looked like one of those Drone planes you see on the news. It was silver (not white), and I could not see any windows, even in the cockpit area. It was plane shaped, but not like the planes you see coming out of the Dothan or Headland airport. It also appeared to be a good bit smaller than your normal prop airplane.

It was definetely not a helicopter from Rucker. Even with the binoculars, I could not see it too well, too high up and hard to track with binoculars. So I can't say for sure it was a Drone. But it looked like one to me.

Does anyone know if any of the military bases around fly Drones? Has anyone else seen this Drone over Headland or other nearby towns? Do you think they are just practicing or are they looking at/for something in particular?

If the military is practicing or training with their drones, they do it over their huge bases, not over US cities.

I have lived in Headland for the last 53 years, I'm definitely not a illegal alien.

And evidently I'm not the only person to spot this unusual plane. Rickey Stokes had a article about it on his website. This article was posted last Friday.

This was a simple post to ask if anyone else in the area had noticed any planes circling over Headland in the past couple of weeks.

And you have turned this in to a personal attack on me and my family. You've called us dope-heads, illegal aliens, religious nuts, and worse. And I don't have a clue as to why I have brough out this rabid hatred in you.

I have not seen any of these planes since my original post on the end of Jan/first of Feb, but we have been having some pretty bad weather since that time.

I understand the government does not like to fly the drones during bad weather or heavy rain.

If you can provide any info on where these drones may be originating from or what they are doing over Headland, please let me know.

Or if you happen to make any sitings over Headland or any nearby town. I would like some answers as to just what is going on.

If they're just training, then I have no problem with that, but what if it is something a bit more sinister.

Or maybe there is some big illegal activity going on in Headland that they are keeping tabs on - if so, I think the innocent public needs to know what is going on in their own neighborhood (if it's so bad they have to use drones for survelliance purposes).

Please help me search the sky's in this next week or however long the clear skys stay with us.

Did the headland cops use a drone to shoot the unarmed person? I doubt it, so who cares for you or your illiterate comments?

So traffic goes around Headland rather than speeding thru it, running red lights and causing all sorts of problems to us 'locals'.

Most of them are either getting drunk on their way to the beach, or trying to sober up on their way home from the beach.

Do you honestly think Headland actually benefits from drunken college students flying down 431 on the way to the beach?

If they need gas, then can get it for 5-10 cents a gallon cheaper just 3 miles further down the road in Dothan.

If they want a 'decent' meal, they'd probably just wait till they got to the beach and eat at a REAL resturant.

The only thing Headland gets from anyone speeding thru on the way to the beach is the revenue generated from the speeding tickets and DUIs.

Drones is been used in this country to spy on persons of African and Muslim descent. Goverment thinks all persons of color are terrorists. I know many black mans and brown mans who are good people. Not all black mans is Muslim, not all black mans is terrorist. You should not judge a man on his skin or on his native homeland.
