The pastor from Hazlehurst Church of God is leaving. Announced it yesterday. How sad. He's a great guy.

Very sad news. He is a good man. Does the COG have to search for a new pastor or does the association find and send them one on a preselected term. I wish them the best. However, change is normally good. So maybe it will bring a breath of fresh air to the church. All churches need change ever so often. Keeps the ruts out of the building. Good luck COG. I know alot of you folks and I think alot of you all.

I heard the news last night @ a restaurant in town. Boy, I mean those folks better look out by the way they were passing judgement on that fine man!!! It says in God's Holy Word "Touch not Thine annointed!". I would hate to be in their shoes when the wrath of God is poured out on them! I believe Pastor Kea is a fine man!! Maybe God moved him to save him from all the bickeringyou people are doing over there!! The Bible says "in every trial, HE will make a way of escape!". Maybe we should try loving each other instead of casting them down. I don't even go to that church, but I have never seen anything but good from the whole Kea family!! May God get the glory out of the whole story!! Cause "HE" will be our KING in glory!! I'm so glad of the fact that God "HIMSELF" will be our Judge! and not man!!

I am interested in your quote from the Bible, "touch not thine anointed." could you let me know where it is found. I have heard preachers quote it, but so far I have not been able to find it.

A few things really upset me about all this...
1. Church attendance at the COG was up on Sunday by well over 500%... people won't go to church to hear about Jesus but when there is a rumor or gossip they show up an hour early to get a good seat!!! It SICKENS me that so many people showed up.
2. The clerk of the church was told by pastor a few days before of the plan and was told to keep his mouth shut. Instead the clerk started calling people in the church (mostly the ones he knew would open their mouths) and that is how the rumor got started.
3. When the announcement was made by the state overseer on Sunday night about who the new pastor would be... the people who basically got on pastor Kea's nerves so much that he wanted out were the ones who complained the most about the new choice. They want change but only change that fit's their ultra-conservative, old-fashioned, me-me-me-me-me agenda.
This church doesn't need more gossip or more drama. It doesn't need people showing hoping to cause a scene. It needs the prayers of it's members, the support of it's community, and the chance to move on with the new pastor.

In reference to the last comment, you "hit the nail on the head"! Well said, I think! It's sad when people desire to go to church only to find out about the latest gossip! It seems to me like several of the "members" might need a good saving, sanctification, and refilling with the "Holy Ghost"! My prayers go out for the Kea family! May Bod Bless them wherever they go. I have been blessed many times by just meeting them in a restaurant at different times, and the kindness the family displayed was always so warm and loving!I know God will provide a very "special place" for them! Hang in there "Kea Family"!!!! I wanna meet ya'll in "The Rapture"!

Why can't you people stop? God is not pleased with all this bitterness, envy, and strife! And yet you say "You love God?" The Bible tells me "If I can't love my brother whom I have seen, that I cannot love God whom I haven"t seen!! Think about it, people!! Time is running out!!!!!!!!!!

Brian Buchanan how dare you mention the clerk of the church on this page. The clerk of this church is an outstanding man. You blame it on the clerk if you want to, but you coming on this forum and posting that doesn't make you a very good person yourself. Furthermore when I posted my first message to start this post it was about the pastor leaving, NOT a post to begin to lay blame on someone. Pastor Kea and his family are great people and will be deeply missed. Lets leave this post at that. Brian Buchanan if you can't say something good, then don't say it at all. Thanks

wow, this is getting heated...let's all calm down...it's okay to debate biblical issues, but arguing and fussing just makes we Christians look bad...I don't attend church there regularly, but maybe you guys should just release the pastor and let him go about his way so that he can start a new chapter in his ministry and support the new pastor and leave it at that...the arguing does nothing productive.

Hey Brian,

You skipped a step or two...the bible says that if you have a problem with your brother to go to him in private first. You never know, you may have been told the wrong information. If you two cannot settle the situation, then bring in a few elders, then if this doesn't work, then you can go public. It is always good to try to sort out our differences in private first. This will save a lot of heartaches.

I totally agree with you bible believer. Brian should have went to the person he is blaming. But instead he comes on this forum and post who he thinks caused all the problems. Which is wrong of him to do. Even if the clerk was the person doing this he shouldn't have posted it here for the world to see. That's not gonna help Pastor Kea or the church body one bit.

This is a message to all Christians. I do not attend this church nor do I even know what the problem is. However, I would like to point out a very intersecting phrase used by buchanan;
"... They want change but only change that fit's their ultra-conservative, old-fashioned, me-me-me-me-me agenda."
This statement has Emergent/seeker-friendly written all over it. This is coming from the same bunch that had a "super bowl party". If this ain't a case of bringing the world into the church, I don't know what is.
Beware of these young, youth pastors who are into this christian rock music. Christian rock is an oxymoron. Better get back to the text of the bible. Ultra-conservative is a good thing.
