Nope. Saying that God hates sin and a sin is a sin. Homosexuality is a sin and overindulging is also a sin. The homosexual and the over eater is the same in Gods eyes, so the homosexual is the same as the preacher or anybody else for that matter that fills their plate up with chicken wings at the buffet.

I'm replying to everyone on here. Romans also says "not even the powers of hell can separate us from gods love" its not a congregations place to say homosexuality is wrong or single out anyone group of people. Many young kids these days sitting in those pews on sunday morning are having sex, getting pregnant, doing drugs, and way worse things. Anything can be "recruited" I have many gay friends and never has one tried to persuade to be gay. Maybe people should teach their kids to think for themselves. And they wouldn't see this "recruiting" going on. I am I christian and do read the bible but it is also not my place to judge anyone it is the LORDs place.

you all get on here and talk about a church sign and sins, but you a are overlooking another sin that everyone is doing by going on this forum and that is gossiping. i dont live the life i should and that is no ones business but mine and the lords. but dont get on here bashing about a church sign and sins. if you read your bible and know the sins you should know not to gossip especially on a public forum.

Actually, homosexuality is listed as one of those sins that are called abominations. The usage of the word abomination means that this is a more severe sin in the eyes of God. Over eating and homosexuality are not the same in the eyes of God abominable sins are worse than other sins. Try something else to justify homosexuality and quit reading your opinion into the Bible.

You are right, God does love the homosexual. But God hates the sin of homosexuality. That is not the words of Ronnie Wilcox or Billy Graham or any other great preacher. That fact is God has already judged homosexuality as a sin in His Word. But, it is a sin that can be forgiven. And, once we are saved, He gives us His Spirit to overcome those sinful desires. We still struggle, becuase we are still sinful, but the closer we draw to Christ, the more strength we have to overcome any sin that may be in our life.

I want to make one thing clear, and then I will not say anything else regarding this topic. I, too, have friends that are caught in the sin of homosexuality. I pray for them every day. I know teenagers that are having sex and getting pregnant way before they should. It breaks my heart. I have seen families torn apart because of the sin of alcoholism. I have not had one thought of hate toward anybody in my life. My desire is to see souls come to know their creator before this life ends. To the homosexual, or the teenager who is having sex outside of marriage, or the alcoholic, and even the glutton I hope you will see that God loves you in spite of the sin that has you bound. He loved you so much that He sent His Son to die on a cross, to take the punishment for every sin we have ever committed. God is a God who wants to have fellowship with you. He paid the ultimate price to make that possible. Please, please, do not turn Him away.

whoever wrote this sign is hypocritical and down right wrong. you don't openly judge people like that and then claim to be holy. i can quote many many scriptures about things that are sin, but no one looks down upon people for those because they don't feel uncomfortable about them...not to mention many of the scriptures people pull to condemn homosexuality are from an old holiness code that wasn't even meant for the everyday person. people should really study the history of the bible before they try to send people to hell for things that aren't true...if everything in the bible is taken literally, then we are all going to hell.

calling out one sin on a sign in public, just because it is your least favorite? that's disgusting.

just to clear you up, the word abomination, as used in the time the bible was written did not mean the same as it does now. it simply meant looked down upon, like crazy haircuts or plastic surgery. do your research.

i apologize for so many responses. i'm just now reading this.:)

Actually, if you read your bible, there are over one hundred acts listed as an abomination. Lying is an abomination to God, re-marrying your ex wife is an abomination, eating fish with no scales, incorrectly weighing food, etc. Just look in an online concordance and you will see. The fact is that ALL sin is an abomination and we are ALL sinners. Paul said he was the chief of sinners. The bible says that ALL SIN and fall short. We are ALL sinners period including you, me and the pastor at your church. Now does that mean we are all doomed to hell? Well that depends on if we are forgiven or not. How are we forgiven? Accept that Jesus Christ has already taken our place on the cross. So, if the glutton receives Christ, he is saved, the same as if the homosexual receives Christ, he is likewise saved. Christ takes care of our penalty ONCE AND FOR ALL. PERIOD. God's grace is bigger than our faults. That's just my 2 cents and I will leave it at that.

Sweetie, God loves you. Don't let any of these haters cause you to stumble. Accept Jesus as your savior and don't worry about the rest of these people. Work out your own salvation with God. Talk to him daily. If you have received Christ, you are okay and don't let anyone else tell you any different.

That's exactly what I said. Jesus preached against sin publicly, but He also preached about the grace to be forgiven of sin publicly. Furthermore, He died publicly on the cross for sins such as homosexuality. That is what our world needs to hear. Perhaps the sign is too confrontational. Maybe they should have included the message of grace alongside of the message of truth. However, the problem we have in this country is the fact that churches are constantly being silenced to preach about certain topics becuase someone might be offended. We are not that far away from pastors being forbidden to even naming homosexuality as a sin in the pulpit because it is seen as hate speech when in actuality it is truth. If a preacher cannot preach against sin, tell me how he is to preach about grace?
These are things in which we can agree, Thank you for clarifying your stance and also for admitting this sign may be to confrontational. Have a great night.

Atleast you acknowledge other sins. But still, who is a church to point out homos? I'm going to put a sign outside my house that says the lord thinks fat people recruit others to over eat, or that every pregant girl unmarried is a recruiter of others to do the same. Do people not see that you are judging another? Do we not realize that by using the LORDS word we are giving people a reason not to live it or even learn it? Do do we not realize that by calling out people it makes them want to do it or more or that you are only sinning to a sinner? Contridicting words never make anyone want to change.

Some parts of that weren't clear, I meant to say by using the lords word to hurt people or point them out, and besides I have lots more to say.

"There are six things the LORD hates-
No, seven things he detest:
Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil, feet that are racing to do wrong, a false witness who pours lies, a person who sows discord in a family." Proverbs 6:16-19
Does this justify that I can say whatever I like become I'm a Christian. Using the bible to judge and then saying God loves everyone, but then usuing it to judge again means that more and more people only see fake people going to church.

The bible says love your brother, what does that sign do? God said those words, those are his to speak. Not ours.

Sin is sin they are no big or small sins.In GOD'S eyes sin is sin.My Bible says that there is only one sin that is not forgiveness that one is blaspheming the Holy Ghost And you sir stop justifying that one sin is bigger than another.

What about the part "forgiven - now go and sin no more." Does that mean quit those things that you are saying are sins once you have been forgiven of them?

Amen....I don't asked people about their sex life...I don't care. I have family members who swing to this side of life, however, when it comes to children, you should caution them about all sex, drugs, and any thing their not old enough to handle. I can not believe any parent and PREACHER(you know who you are) anywhere would not agree to that...go Grace Baptist , I may not be a member now but I might be soon.
