Another fatal accident on US 341 Hwy. Why won't the police slow down this traffic and write some tickets to get the attention of people speeding. It does not need to be a speed trap just shown a presence and write a few tickets. We have enough
city and county police cars to that.

I agree with you 100% on this. However, in order for the city policemen to do this, they would have to leave the flash foods on the bypass and there are some things that they just aren't going to do.

I heard the fatality was riding a motorcycle and was from out of town. There are many places marked on the hwy. It appears that someone came out of N William onto the Hwy but I am not sure and havn't heard any details. So sad. Before traffic reaches the Dairy Queen they need to install a series of flashing light to alert drivers they are getting into a congested area and enforce the existing traffic laws. A red light is needed at they N William and 341 intersection as that is an awful place to get out of and it is heavily traveled.

It wasn't ashley's father that died, he was involved in the accident. And cakewoman your post talking about you hope whoever hit the motorcycle has wats coming to them, your terribly wrong for saying that. Ashley's family are great people. I can't imagine what they are going through along with the family of the man who past. I will pray for them all!! We all should!

Cakewoman35, why don't you go shove another piece of cake in that trap of yours and leave the Hattaways alone?! For goodness sakes, they have enough to deal with already without your gossip! Don't believe everything you hear. Did it ever occur to you the kind of stress those emergency personnel are under in that type of situation?? Maybe they just told you something to get you out of their hair.

I agree with you 100%, N. Williams and 341 has always been a dangerous place. I always try to avoid this intersection. You have people coming out Smith's, Village Pizza and Flash Foods on one side, and Chic King on the other side. In fact, the fence around the car wash and the old house and trees on the other side of N. Williams St. makes it very hard to see the oncoming traffic. If any place in town needs a traffic light, it has always been at this intersection. You are so right, motorcycles are so hard to see anyway.

It's not just Motorcycles. Some drivers just don't pay attention. I'm a bike rider too, and I have learned not to bet my life that other people are going to do what they are supposed to do. I'm sure the driver of the vehicle that hit the M/C didn't see him for some reason. But also I don't know why the rider didn't se him coming and swerve to miss him.
Today I was driving an old car, a big car by todays standards, down the one=way when someone almost changed lanes on top of me. fortunately, I saw them and stopped. The driver also saw me and swerved back into their lane.
The thought occured to me "What If" I had been on my M/C and we didn't see each other. I could have gotten skint up real bad!

Thank you LORD!!

Tell us what is wrong with the road that the wreck happened on? Every time there is an accident doesn't mean that it is because the road was bad. This road is actually in good condition so there is nothing that can be done to the road that could have caused this accident. Also, with the exception of hydroplaning, I don't know of an exhaustive amount of reasons that roads cause wrecks. It is usually drivers that cause wrecks.
