Nope!! You're WRONG!!!!! It's 6%,The Highest in The State of Ky.!!!<quoted text>You're both wrong. The state sales tax is 6% and the local alcohol tax is also 6%, not your reported 8%. The Commonwealth of Kentucky doesn't allow an 8% alcohol tax. The maximum is 6%, which of course our city council decided on.

The Murray City Council passed the second reading of a new alcohol ordinance with a vote of 8-3 Thursday.
Despite objections from several council members, the regulatory tax rate for alcoholic beverages will be 8 percent for both restaurant and package sales.
