I'm a student and am looking to move off campus. A lot of us flock to Campus Core (Evolution villages, suites, whatever) or The Chase because they're furnished and cheap.

But is there any other options I'm missing? I don't want to commit to anything until I know there's other options. Share your experience with certain landlords, complexes etc.

I don't want to live in the Chase. I have friends who live there and their appliances break all the time. They also get random visits from staff, not to mention a state cop lives there who takes his job way too seriously.

Try some of the locals. Not all are good but most are. Best I have dealt with is Welcome Home Properties. Most of what they have they own and are very nice. Some they manage are still pretty nice. And the ladies that work there are great to work with!!

You get a list of rental properties from the local Chamber office. As the norm here, what's nice today may not be tomorrow.

Look around, you'll find a better place.

As for furniture, go to Angel's Attic and a few other places and buy used furniture. Check the paper, even yard sales...

The couple that manages Roberson Rentals are very nice, and they keep their duplexes in great shape.

You sign a lease for a year and move out before? What do you expect? With that way of thinking, why should you not be sued? A lease protects both parties. Grow up!

they are thieves and use the Lords name and image to gain profit.leases are cancelled all the time due to circumstances ppl cant help. suing ppl over a broken lease is a waste of time and a buncha money lots more in court costs that the actual piddly lease.

Definitely. Take it from me, I live at the Chase and in the same building as the state trooper. He is a complete a-hole who has a short temper and the Chase actually pays his rent for him to live there and police the complex. So dumb.

Sue, I'd like to know if your having an issue exactly what it is. They manage property for me and I have never had a problem. Never had a tenant that had a problem with them.

I know he is. And I had no idea that he was getting free rent. That's really fucked up. They actually pay him to make the tenants hate living there. That seems like a sound business plan.
I would be fine with it if he actually did stuff, but he just harasses tenants and wants to fine anyone who isn't silent by like 9 p.m.

Give Kathy Peirce a call.

I live in 1 of her apartments over by Cambridge and can say its pretty nice. 1 bedroom all appliances and all bills included + internet/TV for 600 a month. Unlike the Chase you wont have a hidden extra fee for electric each month.

Sam is dam fast at any maintenance issue you may have as well.

Welcome Home properties never get any maintenance done. It's seriously like pulling teeth to get them to do anything and they act like you're so unreasonable for wanting an appliance fixed etc. If you have pets though there aren't many other options, which sucks. I also recommend Kathy Pierce. Wish I could have found something with her.

You ever think that there are only 2 appliance repair people in this one horse town and some things are subject to their schedule. If you don't like it, move your azz on down the road!! If your such a whining little bitch that you have to post your whining on topics, I'd bet they would be more than happy to help you pack!! FYI, I know Ms. Pierce and if you think she will listen to your punk ass mouth, you got another thing coming. Shes a great landlord but expects the tenants to be reasonable as well. How appropriate that you name yourself "poo"!!
