Crazy Neighbor

I live in Midlothian and really like the area. However I have a crazy neighbor. It is to the point I can not leave my own home. I have called the police made a report, yet nothing has helped. I can not live like this anymore. I think I will have to sell and may take a lost on my home in this market. I also think anyone who would come look at my house will be ran away by my neighbor. I live on Hamlin near 150th. If anyone in the area knows of this neighbor and has also had issues with her let me know. I know she has harrased others on the block. She has triplets(boys) she lives on hamlin and drives a dark blue van. Please help with any suggestions anything will help.

What is exactly is she doing? I just askbecause maybe a solution can be figured out
Never allow anyone to run you off from your own home.
How old are her boys?
I have a neighbor who is wacky and tries to tell us what to do in our own yard
He even tried getting us into trouble with the village but it back fired on him and worked out
to our advantage.
So don;t give up or give in.

Has this made it's way to court? How have the officers handled this? We would hate to see you leave the community over a crazy neighbor. Please be very careful about posting information about other people on here. You definitely don't want her coming back at you with a harrassment complaint. That sounds like someone Iwork with but she only has 1 boy. Don't become a Prisoner in your own home. Get even, act Crazier:):):)

her kids are 3. It has gotten so bad we went in our pool 2 times this summer. She throws crab apples, rocks, dirt at me and my house. Hangs signs on her house out side my windows. Calls me and my husband names. She has a huge spotlight on my bedroom window. When we go out side she tells use to go in the house this is her area. She told me my dog is dead then hung a toy dog by its neck outside my window. The toy same color same spots as my dog. You name it she has done it.She even charged at me in front of the police, they pulled out the tazer. Yet she is worst.

Thats funny as hell, you should have a video camera of these events and have a reality show! That would be priceless, similar to the the "The Christmas Story" and it follow up "My Summer Story"(also known as "It Runs in the Family"). This kind of neighbor is priceless for humor for all she brings to your block. PRICELESS!

wow, she is a piece of work, and the police say there is nothing that can be done?
Have you thought of maybe going to a board meeting(get pictures of the stuff she has hanging) keep making incident reports, this is harassment as I see it, and make the mayor and board members aware of this
this may be very hard to do, but try to ignore her, try to go about having fun in your own yard, If she does not get a reaction she will eventually(hopefully) leave you alone cause you are not fun anymore(way harder to do then said)
My parents lived next door to some really crazy nuts, they raised
pit bulls(I am not apposed to pits just some of their owners)they ordered the one pit to attack my father in his yard He was fixing the soffit on the house, thank God he had a hammer in his hand and kept hitting the dog, my dad was 75 yrs old and had to have stitches in his stomach,the people were nuts, harassing my parents all the time, they finally moved after 5 yrs.
Did the police give you any advice? The incident reports are proof, and might help if you ever have to go to court.

you should set up a camera and videotape her actions. Use it to file a police report and get a restraining order against this crazy person.

I don't in anyway doubt your story, but I am a little confused. If this person is actually throwing objects at you, can't you file a police report? Even if its a crabapple or just dirt, it's still assault. At first, the cops may think it;s a little silly but eventually they'll get the idea. I wouldn't call them to your house though. Else it's lible to look like a j springer episode. Just calmly take a trip to the pd and fill out an report on site. However, your defense should be two pronged. One legit, legal, and overt, the other sneaky, morally questionable, and covert. The trick is to do some background on the people. What do they do for a living? What makes them tick? Everybody's got something they can't stand. Have you considered a 2 million candle power directional spot light? Figure out what time they get up in the morning, then about an hour before that, shine the light in their bedroom window. It's quiet, it won;t disturb any other neighbors and if they call the cops, just make sure you shut it off before they get there and deny everything. If these people are as nuts as you say they are, then maybe the cops will be quick to dismiss the crazies as just thinking that aliens were coming to abduct them. if you do it good, and do it repeatedly, maybe they'll get arrested for filing false reports about UFO's

Maybe we need a posse. Yeah a posse to cruise down Hamlin and check this chick out.

I don't have quite that situation, but my next door neighbor is in a decade+ feud with the neighbors across the street, and even theirs isn't' this bad.

Speaking of "mentally unstable" have you looked in the mirror lately? Spellcheck would also help. As far as saying Slanderous things about me in another post? Well, who's the smarter one? You can't file a restraining order unless you have been married or have a child with the person or if you want to pay 300(with np guarantee). We tried filing one against our neighbor after he was arrested for battery to someone in my family and he tried running him off the road - we had to go to court and the states attorney asked for no contact even by 3rd party - they have that for 1 year. But you ca. Call the police and file a harrasment charge - if they hit you with an object you can file a report for that also.
