yeah but 8 years before our new hires gets their rasie or they dont have vaction time like the older ones does and if you was hired after 2010 you dont get the $500 bouns even tho you are doing the same exact job as the person beside you...now to me thats not econmics that is unfair labor

Update, 3/29/13, 8:30 p.m.

HAZARD, Ky.(WYMT)- Members of the United Steelworkers Union have voted to accept a new collective bargaining agreement with Appalachian Regional Healthcare, ending the threat of a strike.

USW representative Roger McGinnis told WYMT the "yes" votes carried all nine ARH facilites in eastern Kentucky and southern West Virginia.

ARH has 10 facilities in the area, but Mary Breckinridge in Leslie County did not vote because of a separate contract.

McGinnis did not have a final vote tally.

Don't know what channel you get your news from but you need to change channels because you are WRONG. All nine passed the contract so if you want to go on strike April 1st have fun standing out there alone.

That's easy for you to say. Have you looked around, there are not many jobs for the taking. Most of the people who are there and don't get a bonus raise or anything else for 5 years, are there because there are not many jobs in our area. I am going back to college so that I can get a better job, but there is no guarantee that once I graduate there will be one here. How would you like to work at a job knowing you are not going to get a raise or bonus for 5 years, but you insurance is going to almost double in payment every month?

Im glad to hear the strike thought is now over Employees can get back to the daily B/S As for those that disagree with sections of the contract as it was told to me in 07 you can go with the flow or you have 3 yrs to get the backing to try & change it Pending on how strong you feel about the union & its members also weather its worth the fight as to your next step / Myself I left to fight another day Again CONGRATULATIONS to all United steel workers for expressing thoughts

the only people that has it made at hazard arh is
the RN's and management, the RN's make big bucks
and they raley get off their asses, i know for a fact the only people that do any patient care is
the nurse aides and they are worked to death, I really believe the RN's think they are just there
to decorate the nursing stations. I had a family member in there and i have seen and heard the nurses talk down to nurse aides, if you ask me
the nurses should make nurse aide pay and the
nurse aides should make nurse's pay. If the nurses were paid for what they actually do and how many times they get off their ass and go down the hall
their pay would be very little.

I was wondering if anyone knew the proper steps to
Take to have your union president, Vice President and other elected officials removed from office at Harlan because they will not file a grievance or even have a meeting with the supervisors when they know that what they are doing is wrong. It is like they are afraid they are going to make someone mad or upset! We pay union dues and we deserve proper representation. We even have a 2 union Reps that let management shit on them almost on a Daily basis, they don't care thought just as long as they get that union check every month. It is sad when you can sell your dept out over $75.00-100.00' dollars. How do I get ahold of someone who is going to listen !
