Please vote NO so new hires can be respectively paid. Folks, it was bad enough with the 5 year step. It's awful to make them wait for 10. How would you feel if you were a new hire after April 1? The contract they are offering can be dealt with if you have seniority but no way is fair to new employees.

You union people bitching about the cost of insurance can go screw yourselves. Health costs are increasing and we all have to bear the cost. Suck it up and quit asking for ARH to pay everything for you. You want better pay? Go in debt and put the time in to get an education and better job. No one is going to hand it to you. If you can't afford the insurance then don't take it and buy a cheaper, bare bones plan that the Obamacare you wanted mandates. You can't have it all people. You have to make compromises and give a little like the rest of us. I. I work for ARH and I have to pay far more for insurance then you do. Just because you have some union to hold the hospital hostage cause you people will take your ball and go home shouldn't mean you deserve better benefits then the rest of us. Suck it up and move on. You make me sick.
well boo hoo, you don't sound professional enough to have a job that is nonunion at ARH. Has it ever occurred to you that it's not all about the insurance? Some people do have compassion and wants what is best for new employees such as our children and grandchildren. I hope you don't sound like this in your ARH position. It's those kind of attitudes that make our patient scores go down.

Every ARH are small mountain communities. This affects everyone-employees, patients, and families. I want to know why the ARH board of trustees are never interviewed. Why do we have board members that don't even live in the communities? Why is ARH corporate office in Lexington when ARH has nothing around there? Here is a list of the board. I wish they would come forward and talk. Explain why they let certain things go on.

Board of Trustees

Chair
Emmett S. Pugh, III - Beckley, WV

Vice Chair
Deborah Harris - South Williamson, KY

Ida Androwich, RN - LaGrange Park, IL
Raymond Cox - Wallins, KY
Ahmed Faheem, MD - Daniels, WV
Jeff Hollon - Louisville, KY
Leon Hollon - Hazard, KY
Thomas Hyatt - Washington, DC
Carl Larson - Beckley, WV
Brock Litteral - West Liberty, KY
Larry Meador - Hinton, WV
Wayne Myers, MD - Waldoboro, Maine
Debbie Reynolds - Lexington, KY
Greg Pauley - Frankfort, KY
Madonna Sturgill - Neon, KY
Carolyn Sundy - Lynch, KY
Russell Bentley - Top Most, KY

I agree! I have been with ARH for 25 yrs. I would walk for the new hires. It's not fair, we are talking about making our children and grandchildren wait 8 years for a raise. We better hope our children get an education and move out of this town so they can get a better paying job.

Or better yet, hope a new hospital builds here and force ARH to be competitive with pay.

One more thing, I think it's ashame the board doesn't step in and do something. To all you Hazard union workers: If we get a bad contract I pray you no longer bank at Peoples. Leon Hollon is your Peoples Bank CEO.

Interviewed by who? Do you think you have the qwalifications to do that? Are you another one of them MBA grads from a "highly accredited" learning center?

USW members work for the union under a contract. Contracts are renewable. ARH isn't happy with what they're paying for and want a different contract. Nothing wrong with that, you'd do the same if you were umsatisfied with services rendered. The board doesn't answer to the union. The union answers to the board.

Those fussing over their union reps are in the minority, Those guys are elected by the majority which have decided it's best to voluntarily support another mans lifestyle, and that would be very noble were it necessary. I support a few families myself - just not voluntarily and I hate it.

It's a risky gamble pooling with others for a job. To outsiders all we see are those claiming to lend their support to those who have not put their time in. New hires are the most likely to drag down production with their I-deserve-the-same-as-you attitude.

If a person works honestly at their job, those over and around them would recognize it and do what they could to keep them. The union blocks that system. Unions protect the weak.

Vote for yourself. You have to live with it. If you have to cross to work, there's no shame in it. Don't let the few loud mouths bother you. If they really were your friends they'd understand you love your kids more. Best of luck to you.

pentecostals worship the god of self pride and new experiences. catholics exalt tradition over scripture. good people they may be, they are misguided. my God never changes and i'll never change gods.

Well Hector, I never have let on like I graduated from a highly accredited college. I would just like for WYMT to do an interview with them just to clear things up. It would be shameful for people not to fight for a better contract. If people 30 years ago didn't fight then we would not be as fortunate today. We should do the same. How would you like to work 10 years before you make better money? I may not be a graduate but I do know a little about the union so I do know what I'm talking about when I say your wrong. ARH is a not for profit, so the CEO and all the top ARH leaders answer to the Board of Trustees.
