my husband is a superintendent at teco and has been for years. He's in charge of couple different mines, and there are no lay offs at teco, nor any plans for one.they lost a very small contract and just so they DON'T have to do any layoffs, they cut out working Saturdays, which tickled the men to death. They were working EVERY Saturday.and the contract was small enough that cutting out Saturdays will take care of the loss. And just for the ones who'll get so much joy out of thinking someone might lose their job, the contract they lost was due to financial probs within the company that held the contract. Nothing to do with teco. They still have enough coal contracts to keep running coal for years. Believe it, cause it came from the top.

the Saturdays off are because of a bunch of busybody "miner's wives" calling corporate and bitching because their men ain't getting to spend enough "family time" at home well when you piss em off enough you won't have that problem to worry about anymore ladies!! They'll be home ALL the time because they'll be out of a dam job! Grow up women and be dam glad they have a job at all and quit whining because they have to work on the the way there are a lot of people who are looking for jobs that would be happy to work any day of the week because that's what you do in this day and age we ain't livin in the 50's no more!! By the way because your man can't say this without pissing you off...why don't you quit embarrassing them by flapping you jaws all the time over nothing!! Maybe you should find some jobs so you'll know how it feels...seems like you have some time to spare!!

ok if you wanna cut back teco why dont you take all the company vechicals and the gas cardds and make them drive there own and buy the gas that would save alot you got to many sucks up on that place for its own good i mean for real start pulling rank and you might be able to save a dollar the ones that are screaming to cut the mens hours are the big ass sucks that it wont affect but what about the under dog that really works and buys his gas and drives his own truck. teco it should say suck-o
