Welfare has ceased to be a means to help people and has become a lifestyle that enables more dependence. 5 year limit on welfare without permanent disability. Drug test all recipients.

There is an error in this thinking.

It assumes that those who manage welfare are interested in solving a problem. It assumes that those who manage the welfare system even think there IS a problem.

You see, those who manage the welfare program WANT it just the way it is...if not MORE So.

Those who manage welfare WANT AS MANY AS POSSIBLE ON WELFARE.

They do NOT want it to be simply something that keeps someone from starving (because they simply PHYSICALLY incapable of working).

They WANT welfare to be how EVERYONE gets fed. That way, those who manage welfare will ALWAYS be on easy street...because all those on welfare will WANT them to stay just were they are (b/c they pass out the food stamps and press the buttons that load up their EBT cards).

SO...thanks for your suggestion on solving what you see as a problem. BUT...it will simply fall on deaf ears. Because those who can do something about it don't think there's any problem to begin with.

5 years is too long, 6 months is long enough and call them in for a random drug test twice a month, if they dont show or are late then cut them off

welfare is good for some who needs it but i personally know a few who are using the system and it is never checked into. anymore these welafare babies uses it as a career. they will get welfare payments, tires bought for their vehicle, insurance paid, money for clothes, all tuition and books paid and 700.00 foodstamps. mwanwhile they are enrolled in college classes just for the finanical aid but when they graduate they dont use that education, they decide to go back to school to do something else and here the wheel starts turning again, same o same o. no wonder our nation is broke. the government needs to put them sorry a$$es out to work and let them provide for the 5 head of kids they have.

Why would the "ones in charege" of it want everyone on it, because if EVERYONE is on it then WHO is going to be paying for it? THAT don't make any sense.

End all government handout programs. So what if you can't work? It ain't my problem! If you got hurt at work - that's a workmans compensation issue. Get a good lawyer to prove you weren't on drugs, or that another that caused the accident wasn't on drugs. If you got hurt at home -then it's your parents or homeowners insurance issue. The government makes us buy insurance -then doesn't hold them accountable for their claims. There is nothing 'right' about any government handout program. Everything the government has a hand in is ineffective, inefficient, and full of corruption. Look at Little Hazard -- wasting money on a picnic shelter! 2500 coal miners out of work and the local government thinks the sewage creek behind the courthouse is the Ohio River!

They ought to at least limit recipient amounts (1) and alotted recievers (1) per every five or seven years. And make the baby mamas accountable via mandatory economic reality classes, and required ceu's every year too.

Zero would be better. If I see somebody needing some help - I'm fully capable of doing it myself. We do not need a 3 story building full of social services workers in every county in the country trying to decide who gets the other half of my check. Medical disability....really? You mean there's NOTHING you could do to pull your fair share? The most cost effective means of treatment is to cut every single government handout. Then these bad back people will be scrambling to put these 'undocumented' citizens out of work.

don't know about you guys on here but i am sick and tired of working 6 days a week and half of what i make is being taken out for the loosers who use the system.we didnt tell them to have 4,5,6 children and use the system to raise them. married people who use the system and are able bodied to work needs to be put out on a work farm and made work 10-12 hrs a day to support their kids they laid and got. some of them get divorced and we apy for them a free lawyer and then both parents continues to use the system. that going to college s**t is just to get finanical aid and they NEVER apply their education, they just go back to get another vocation and there goes more finanical aid. it's all a way of living for these dead beats. i'm 52 yrs old and i do get tired at work and some days i dont think that i'll make it all day but if i dont work my bills aren't paid or food put on my table.QUIT giving to the users and help our senior citizens. thye should be made pay everything back to the government if they dont use their education. it's time this is put to a stop.it makes me sick.

I'm not totally against welfare but I think many people who are on it don't really need it. Everyone on welfare should be drug tested too. If working people have to be drug tested then so should welfare recipients.

Call up there and ask. They don't just hand it out. Unless u've got a newborn( then thy give you six months) everyone who gets it are either working or in school. And it's not like you get a check for each kid . You get the same amount of money whether you have one kid or 6. Or that's how it was when my cousin applied. Now I don't know how it works with food stamps or any other programs they have up there. But that's what they told her about the welfare check. Is K-tap and welfare the same thing? K-tap is what she applied for. She did draw it for two months the check was for 260 something. Once she started working it went down to $39 dollars. And she was only getting it because after her divorce her ex wouldn't pay his child support. She has 2 kids.

Oh YEEAAAH. That's really nice.

That's not like it's just adding more to the bucket of REWARD for getting knocked up (free rent, food, phone, childcare, education *or sitting in class playing school, rather*, medical care, and more).

All this....and how do you get it? Go to work? Why NOOOOOOOoooooooo.

Just spread them legs and, by all means....DON'T GET MARRIED.

And nobody BETTER NOT suggest otherwise...or complain one little bit. Why, that would be "judgmental."

(and be sure to say "judgmental" with an annoying little pout)
