Does anyone know of a reasonably priced Suboxone clinic? Something cheaper than the usual $400/month. Thanks for any info.

Yes there is one. But I would not put it on this public forum for anything. To many haters.

No no no....not Self Refind...I'm a mother, a wife, a hard worker...had to start Suboxone, to wean off the rediculous amounts of pain killers, our irresponsible docs around here stuck me on...tried to come off on my own and suffered seizures/time in hospital! Point is, started Self Refined, payed my $400 bucks per month, and they layed the Suboxone on me with a smile on their faces, patting me on the back all the while, telling me I was doing great for trying to cut down on my own, never failed random drug screens, never short on pill counts...had me on three strips per day, go in and tell them I'll have to pay in few days that I didn't have $400, guess what-refused to refill my prescription, jerked the rug out from under me! Now, here I am...no medication, sick and don't waste your time thinking they'll help you or give you one last few and a taper down schedule...truthfully, sadly I started there with hopes of getting off this medication roller-coaster, finally thinking life (and my mental and physical health) was going to start looking up...I'm in worse shape now than I've been in years!!! 7 months at that clinic, at $400 pr month, plus cost of med's...you do the math how much my family has sacrificed and now...high price to pay for having all the years of hard work trying to live right and get healthy, to have it all taken away and setting back my progress, years! Get online, do your research and find a doc' that has a track record for actually caring for patients! If not, might as well find a neighborhood ummmmmmm..."buddy" to help you out...be in better shape for lot less money!

I think Suboxone is suppose to help people get off drugs, which will save lives, turn lives around, and make our community safer to live in.(am I wrong?) BUT.....people who need help have to pay ridiclous price for a Dr. vist plus the mediciation. Soooooo, usually someone on drugs is broke. How are they supposed to get this medication to help them and to cause positive reaction. Seems like Dr's. who are prescribing and pharmacys are really trying to make money on people who are really in need when they should be giving it away to save our children and our community from all this drug craziness. I may be wrong about it, but I am really trying to understand it all.

Well, yes...they are trying to make money. Why else do people go to work?

Well, sure, things "should" be given to someone "in need"...BUT, who is going to pay for it?

Are you?

The ONLY place money should be "given" away is in areas that will STOP people from getting hooked on drugs to begin with.

That way, you the issue of giving something to people to help them get OFF drugs - or not -(which is just another scam)...wouldn't even be an issue.

to wondering......I guess you have never had a loved one hooked on drugs or ever loved someone enough to help them. Do you just watch them kill them selves. Families are begging for help, scam or no scam, you will do whatever you have to do to save you childs life. Older people do not know where to turn or who to talk to or how to control this awful awful durg addiction that is killing (my) our children and loved ones. Sorry to get you or anyone else all out of whack....I guess I was hoping for some positive feedback. But like most places I have turned for advice....NEGATIVE. Thank you and no need to reply.

My son just left a clinic that would not taper him down, he started in the clinic as you did to get off of painkillers. He never had a failed drug test, did not want to take suboxone, it was killing him, he begged them to help him taper off, they wouldn't so he stopped. Suboxone is way worse than the stuff he was on to begin with. Suboxone is just another wicked drug that these doctors use to make money. The money makers are ruining our young people. He went to help himself, and ended up having to go through a worse withdrawal and sickness than he would have to begin with, you need to research and check it out before you go to these clinics because they are in it for the money. At first they were so considerate and helpful and promised to get him off with 6 months to a year, it is going on two years and they want to increase instead of decrease, more money for them. Good luck to you honey, I hope you find someone who is interested in helping you instead of preying on the addiction to make money.

I know people who have abused suboxone like some people abuse oxycontin and percocet. They eventually had to quit taking that too. If you take any medication the way that your doctor tells you to, you'll probably have better results with it. Most people around here seem to be looking for a high, not help, though.

Now maybe my comment will post this time from a different computer, lol.

Very true. I know people who abused suboxone in the past too. Any drug can be abused, whether it's prescribed legally or not.

It does work if you want it to. And I'm happy to hear it's working for you. Keep up the good work your babies need you. The last thing to worry about is what others say. All some people want is to bring out the old so they have someone to talk about. It takes away from their problems and if your doing good. They have to look at self. Good luck in your sober life.

Where is a clinic in the eastern part of Kentucky that someone could refer a loved one to get help without breaking the bank?

In eastern Kentucky all the doctors worry about is money. They charge 400.00 a month for the ten minutes they see you. It is a total JOKE! Lexington is the closest one that does not charge that much that I know of. Why they can not take insurance around here is also a joke. And in MOST cases even medicaid can be charged, but most refuse to do so. I know my insurance has paid for mine. And I know of one that went to Lexington and medicaid paid for their's. But your doctor has to write it up a certain way with medicaid. But here in this town you will not find one that will take insurance! Why? Money is the ONLY reason.
