hey. my ex-boyfriend was on suboxone. He was addicted to pain pills. He started using the suboxone but basically took it to get the buzz. It is addictive. so yes you get "stuck" on it. If you don't take it right and during the fisrt few times you take it you puke your guts out while your body is getting use to it. I have heard ppl say you onlt puke if your doing other stuff with it. hence the oppiate blocker. So, that could have been the case. I dunno. But i think it isn't any better then any other pill. It's all about how bad you want to get clean i guess. If you truely want it then you'll get it. If not you'll just start using suboxone to get high off to. Those things sell for almost as much as a oc on the street now.

Well, I have to say that suboxone has saved my husbands life. He had been doing drugs for 8 plus years. Doing anything from hydrocodone to oxycontin to methadone. That is all he thought about. But I stood by his side always trying to find a way to help him stop (mainly praying). He has been on suboxone for 1 1/2 now and is doing great. It cost us 400.00 a month for office visit and 500.00 a month for his meds. We have no insurance. I work 3 jobs and he also works. Takes everything we got to pay bills and his Dr. visits and meds. But peace of mind knowing he is not on the street buying pills and may live long enough for us to grow old together. We think it works well.

Can you tell me what type of draw backs there are with taking suboxone? Does it have any side effects that you have noticed?

Will he EVER be able to stop taking it or will it be a life time of taking suboxone?

hopefully he can stop taking it....but he said he was afraid to stop just yet d/t the fact he didn't think he had enough will power to be clean with no crutch (so to speak). But he is a totally different person. We have a great marriage now. We do family things together with him not being high or doped up. Suboxone is a life saver. Anyone on drugs who wants to get help, needs to see a physician to discuss taking suboxone for treatment. I don't really care if he has to take it the rest of his life as long as I can keep him out of the funeral home....he is the love of my life and I thank God we got him help.

All this is well and good but he should think about getting educated about addiction and trying to combat his long term, not just the old quick fix that works for now outlook.I know everyone's situation is different but without getting into my lengthy story,I was an opiate addict for almost 15 yrs. and it started with hydrocodone then oxycontin, then methadone, and then on to suboxone. After almost 3 yrs. on suboxone I determined myself to get clean and went though hell for over 2 mos. getting clean.I am now over 6 months completely drug free and I was also paying $900 per month altogether and you all can imagine how much that $ could help your family. Not to mention his over all health and well being as a clean, drug free person.Suboxone will become"just another drug"when
used long term,a"crutch"like you said.It should be administered in
a short term scenario while N.A. and other education/treatments are
undertaken.Best wishes for you all though.

If u have never done suboxome's u will throw up the whole first day, yeah there good with keeping u off the pain pills and shit but I think from experience coming off suboxone's are 10 times worse. My Doc said they are doing away with the suboxone pill and turning it into a strip, plus all Doctors in hazard have to cut everyone down,so much for paying all that money. They should atleast have to cut so much off what we pay, only fair...

To the person that had a drug implant, I don't understand how it got infected 4 months later. The actual implant dissolves in less than 3 months. But I will tell you people that the implant is only active against cocaine and pain pills, the uppers. It has no effect whatsoever on xanax and alcohol. I got drunker than h*ll with the implant in and high as a kite on xanax, so no help with those problems. Costed me $700 and that was 4 years ago. They want you to have another one about every 8 weeks, I think they are $425 the second time and thereafter. What I want to know is what kind of buzz do you get from Suboxone? I have heard that they are selling them on the street now. Do you have all kinds of energy or do they put you to sleep? Just basically tell me the feeling that you get from them.
