looking to move on down

Thinking of moving to the Hazard area. single 45 y/o with 15 y/o son like fishing and just plan country. How is it in Hazard i'm from New York

Well you should like hazard. I dont live to far from our walmart,food city etc. Sure it has its downfalls but what city doesnt?

I love Hazard. I've lived in 6 different states, but I always got homesick for the mountains and the people. Topix isn't the best place to form an opinion of our city. It's just mostly public venting. Me included, sometimes. I hope you like it here,most people are kind, thoughtfull, and would help you if your car was "broke down" on the side of the road...LOL

May I ask why you are chosing Hazard? Do you have family here?

No i don't know a soal there. I like the the name but most of all i just need to get away from the wicked witch of the north and start new. my parents lived in central ky 40 years ago. but in my search i leaning to the east side of ky. thanks for the reply pixistyxx

You'll like hazard :) Nice place to settle down, and really enjoy yourself. It doesnt have that over crowded feeling you get when you're in a big city. Ive thought about moving out of hazard because I hated it,but I've changed my mind and realized I dont want to be to far away from hazard.

Thanks Rachel i'm driving down in a few weeks to look around. i think it's what i'm looking for. how would hazard feel about a new yorker moving into the area

Well mostly everyone would welcome you. People here are very friendly. A lot of people may be amazed with your accent. My sister in law was a New Yorker and she cracks us up because she talks so much differently than us. You will be fine. Good Luck with everything!

Incest is not that high here! Honestly they done a poll on the most incest states and areas a couple years ago. Kentucky was not even in the top five on that list, new york was number six. Eastern Kentucky was not even the area that was proven to have a high amount of incest for our state. It was and area of western Kentucky.

I can't imagine that hazard is really like that. I will soon see for myself.I will post my thoughts on hazard. I really think it's a GOOD small town with GOOD people. Every place has it's A$$holes and just let them be. what goes around comes around. Thanks to all that left comments
