I think If you are in and out in 15 minutes you're not getting your moneys worth. Adipex can be dangerous. I would be caution.

Thats exactly right. I went to Dr. Kimsey once and my blood pressure was high, but she said that she was going to give me the medicine anyways so that I would not have wasted my 65 dollars. She basically gave me something that could have killed me with the rate my blood pressure was at at the time. I have never forgotten that. Later on I started into med school and that is where I learned just how dangerous this medicine really is.

Vera Hopper is better, at the Hazard Clinic. 30 bucks a visit, you get your meds at the pharmacy of your choice ( about 18 bucks ). First visit is like $125 only because they do blood work and an EKG.

Any where you go to a weight loss clinic thats all it takes.Yes,adipex is dangerous. If you take this medicene as directed the benifets outway the risk,it's a fast way to loose weight. When a person stops taking them the weight lost can come back double. It's smart to make life style changes as you loose weight.

I disagree, according to scientific facts, there is no directed way to take this that causes any benefits that out weigh the risks. Adipex has only been tested for people taking it for 3 weeks, there is no tests that have been done to show what the reaction in the body is after 3 weeks. Dr. Kimsey will give these out for as long as you need them. Tests have shown that this drug affects the hearts muscles.

For whoever rated my above post as clueless, spam, and nuts, then I would like you to meet 2 members of my family sometime that now suffers from the effects of Adipex. I have one family member who now has a weak heart and leaky valve, I have another one that now has ulcers and GI tract problems after taking the drug. And as I stated I did go to Dr. Kimsey with high blood pressure and was still offered the drug even though it raises ones blood pressure even higher which is a huge health risk.

You should always use your own judgement. What did you do with your pills?YOU put your health at risk by going there.I HOPE YOUR MED SCHOOL TAUGHT COMMON SENSE.You can't blame the Dr.You chose to go on your own.

I think any adult with any sense should know speed kills. If you and your family don't want this kind of medication don't go to this Dr.Other people use it with no problems it's legal and it's cheap.

It's legal and cheap but the medication should be used with caution. I agree it helps with weight loss and behavior modification. It definitely shouldn't be used I'n patients with heart disease. The doctor should know that the general public might not-all someone may know is that he or she wants and needs to lose weight. It's the docs responsibility to educate. I don't think most people wake up and just ask for weight loss needs. Addicts normally seek other meds not Adipex but who knows Crazy people do crazy things.

Adipex is bad medicine. Thankfully, it will be pulled off the market soon like Meridia recently was. Lose weight the old fashioned way, not by using speed (which Adipex essentially is). It does do damage and has no long term effects. Once you stop the medicine, you gain the weight right back and thus restart the cycle of taking the medication again. Good way for drug companies to stay in business, bad for patients.

You'll only gain the weight back if you don't make permanent lifestyle changes, and that will happen regardless of what type of medicine you take. The reason that adipex helps people who really need it is because it gives you enough energy to get the ball rolling. Once you start losing weight you begin to feel better. Then it's a lot easier to want to make those changes permanent ones, with or without the pills.

It has it ups and downs. I know someone who took the pills and became very violent, had rage problems, outburts towards family and friends..etc.

I know a friend who took it. The first 2 or 3 mos she lost weight, then after that she wasnt loosing, so Kimsey put her on 2 a day.(thats $95.00 a month) She only lost 2 more pounds the first month on them, the second month on them she gained close to 8 or 9 lbs. The Dr wouldnt give her anymore, said she hadnt lost any weight to give her anymore. My friend said she couldnt function without them now, stays sleepy, dont want to clean house, has no energy...etc.

The only up is that you do loose the first month or 2..then gain it back. You are not suppose to drink any kinda of soda pop. Which that makes it very hard for some.

I dont know what kinda of Diet pill tht vera gives
does anybody know?

You are correct, the medicine causes severe mood swings. It puts the user in a sort of bipolar state where they have really high highs and bottomed out lows. Most people on this drug behave like steroid users. The pill only works for about 2 months though and then your body gets use to them. Thats why most doctors make you go off of it for awhile. Most doctors require you to be monitored the whole time you take this drug to be sure it is not affecting your heart.

Phentermine is only to be given to a patient by a doctor who feels that the patient has to lose weight quickly and that the negative side effects are worth the risk. Which is in very rare cases such as someone who needs heart surgery and needs to lose weight fast for it, which is ironic since this drug damages the heart.

I went to Dr. Kimsey in August 2009 I started out on 1 pill a day, then she gradually increased me to a higher dose switching from different types of medication throughout the year so my body wouldn't get use to the same medicine and stop working. After a year I lost 65 lbs but I also had to change my diet. However she gave me no diet plan or even a step in the right direction to eating better. If I gained weight she would be very rude and threaten to take me off the medicine. If I had a good month and lost weight she would have a much different approach and seemed to be happy for me. After being on the same medication for 6 months I gained 3 pounds and she told me I was not taking it serious to come back when I decided that my health was top priority. I was furious and WILL never be back. First I trusted this woman to advise me and guide me in the right direction with her medical expertise but I got the impression that as long as I was paying $90.00 and not gaining over 3 pounds I was a good patient but the second I gained she was ready to give up. The medication is very harmful to you, you have all these crazy symptoms that accompany it. I do not advise anyone to take this medicine but if you do please find a professional who is willing to help you anyway possible with the weight loss not just out for your money!!
