I highly doubt this seeing as how since Sykes came back to Hazard they have employed over 3,000 people with only a little over 250 being currently employed. Sykes has a long history of having a turn over rate and it's mostly due to the area. So many people have came through those doors saying, "I'll work 6 months to get unemployment." It's more likely that this place closes down than it is to add a new client.

Glad to hear that. I think it would be great, that would give a job to a few who want and need to work. Unlike some, I dont receive free beans and taters, if I dont work I dont eat and I'm 100% sure that I'd be knocking on Sykes door if I didnt already have a job at ARH. When I was a young guy news like this was met with excitement, even if the work was short term people was excited and would line up to compete for the job because the government was there to serve as a civil service, not as a means of raising ones family. We use to be a proud nation and the people of eastern, ky were among some of the proudest. It is great news! Glad to hear we may be able to shrink th unemployment rate!

Soooooo....the job you have NOW provides insurance and retirement contributions ?

AND....you're asking this question because you'd weigh the job you have NOW that includes insurance and retirement with the one that Sykes would offer?

WELL then...you should STAY where you are, since you are employed at such a great place.

If you DON'T have such a job NOW....then what are you doin' wrinkling you're nose sniffing this one...like you'd have a reason to be picky.

You must be one of those that independently wealthy. You know, the ones that draw a government check, have free rent, utlities, medical and food. All thanks to the tax payers such as myself and my spouse. I am looking for a job. I am not looking for a handout. I am not to choosey about what I will do to earn a paycheck. But I am limited in what I can do. Thanks to an accident when I was four and another accident in 99. But I can and will work. Unlike some people. I understand how important it is to have insurance and to prepare for retirement. That is the reason I am asking these questions. Totally legit questions.

If you're looking...why not work SOMEWHERE while you are looking for that "perfect" job that makes contributions to a retirement fund ?

How do you know that I am not doing this. When you can't stand on your feet for hours on end or do heavy lifting it is hard to find something in my area. Why should I settle for min wage job that is part time with no benefits when I can find something a little better with benefits. Do you even understand how important benefits are.

So, getting past all that up there that makes little to no sense at all.
Sykes offers Insurance to their Full-Time employees, and their Retirements savings programs are excellent. You would have to go over the benefits to decided which is best for you, but I managed to have my health needs met quite appropriately through their offerings.
I don't understand why everyone is always bashing on Sykes. They are providing jobs in South Eastern Kentucky, the pay appropriately, they provide Insurance, and they hire Full Time positions. There are far larger companies operating out of Hazard that don't do that.
If you're interested in Applying at Sykes you can do so through their careers link on their website. Its pretty easy to navigate, but I would follow up the online application by filling out on of their paper applications at Sykes' building as well.
What they really need are loyal employees. those that will do their jobs, work the shifts the agreed to, assist in creating a great working atmosphere, and promote them positively in the community.

You guys obviously can't comprehend FACT. This rumor has been going around since the AT&T side closed last year. For a very brief time Verizon held a very small account that only lasted around 90 days. Again, Sykes can't keep people employed either because people don't want to work or they're eliminated for various reasons. Since 2007, Sykes has employed 3,320 people from Perry and surrounding counties. There are currently 269 employees the majority of which have been employed with Sykes for less than 6 months. I would wager my life that Sykes will lay off the remaining 200 plus employees before the summer. I hate to be the barrier of bad news but only a very small percentage of those currently employed meet the standard that the financial client requires.

Don't get your hopes up as again Sykes will leave Hazard high and dry just as they did Pikeville, Morgantown and Bardstown (which held the same financial client).

To further prove my point, those currently employed were informed last week that no one would be receiving a raise. Also, today we were told that our vacation time had been eliminated and cupeled with our paid time off. Sound familiar?

They really don't care about the employees. Everything is your fault if the cx isn't happy even if they are the ones who put themselves into a mess, are rude and dumb. But survey's count over your word. Also, they have weekly meetings about ways u can improve because u have to quick but yet nice when trying to get them off the phone. Heck, I got wrote up for failing authenication last week but I know some people who just bypass questions but never get called on it. It use to be a nice place to work before the change when everyone left. Now that place is a joke where my job always feels like it's on the line. Sometimes, I want to tell my manager who admits that he hasn't been on the phone for a while and doesn't know what's change to get off my back and take some calls to see what their like. Also, james who runs the place now even admited that he never took calls and was made a manager right off the bat but doesn't want to hear our excuses on why we can't meet the bank's goals. Also, he said that we should be responsible for our actions but apparently the tellers who are only trained for two weeks or anyone else in other departments aren't suppose to and yet can make excuses. He was being a hypocrite. Now before u fan boys start, I do show up everyday and work hard but don't feel appreaciated but my job threatened at every turn while those who don't take calls make cracks about others work.

Also, I forgot to add that they have a high turn over rate where they fire more people then they hire. Also people are always quieting for those reasons I listed. Plus, they got rid of overtime, I didn't get my raise either along with others. Also, before u fanboys start, why is it that everyon always reports this as true but u always say it isn't when u know it's true.
