When are they gonna put a stop to all this talk and let the employees know what is going on. all this rumor and gossip is keeping the men tore up, it needs to STOP. Vacatin time is coming up shortly and how can any of us plan anything with the possiibily of no job to come back too. They need to call a meeting and let us know.

This has tore me up so bad all these rumors. If the rumors are true. what are all our men going to do for jobs. The management should have a meeting and tell the men that this is true or false. thats the least they can do.

They are shutting down in 4 weeks, so how do u explain that? People feet on here and run their mouth, do you have family that works there? I would say not... Well I do, and he has been at Pine Branch since 1988, 4 years from retiring, so now what? Draw unemployment till he finds another job. There are no other jobs for coal miners, that is all they know... Before you actually post on here, get the facts please. NO ONE wants to here your smart @ssed opinions.

I work for the other guys down the road. Our job has been sold four times since I have been there. I contract trucking, but yet, I have stayed.(so far)!!!!! Work is the hardest it has been for me in 16 years!!! BUT I am working. I have worried like you guys!!! STILL am!!! BUT, keep in mind that most of what you hear is Bull!!! IF they buy, they intend to work, and make a profit!! Good miners and truckers will stay, and work for this company. Potters have been in business for a long time. They must have a plan!!!! Don't listen to all the sad little people on here that hate coal!!! A plus the Potters are local, they were born and raised in Pike Co, and they know mining!!! Glad to see local buyouts, rather than huge companies that have all kinds of other businesses!!! May be a good thing!!! But keep in mind that most on here just want to worry you!!!!

People please, until you hear this from the people in charge, or get a statement, don't believe any of this trash. Believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear.

The Duff's are NOT, I repeat, NOT selling.

Very much on the inside, and the people in charge have made no mention of this. Mind you, some changes could be in the near future, I do feel like Dave will retire and a new management company will oversee the operations of the company, however Pine Branch WILL remain open, and they will continue to mine coal. All avenues will be exhausted to ensure that no layoffs are made. The majority or the statements prior to this one are false and mearly speculations. Employees of PBCS need to remember how well Dave & Susie take care of their employees, this wont just be them signing on a line then they are gone forever. Please, let the rumors stop.

This is fact...my brother works there. The papers were signed yesterday. Blackhawk has 90 days to complete the buyout or the deal will fall through.
No mention of layoffs because the company will still be operating stroong, just with new owners.
