This state is going to vote for this health care because they have so many on welfare and like the government hand out. Working people will pay for this thru the nose. the freeloaders will have a free ride. Just wait until the next government move is to cut their welfare and it is coming. Lets see how many want more government control than. You better wake up and vote against this bill it is just more government contrlo of our lives. They are not giving anything away.

With so much corruption in this state, who would really care about healthcare. When there state government corruption like this.
Here are the case files of MO DSS Family Support , Child Support enforcement workers that have the authority to issue garnishments per a judge's decision and enforce them to employers but what happens when these state employees, have garnishments against them and MO DSS does nothing to enforce the judge's ruling against their workers.

So far I'm not very confident. My husbands company he works for offers insurance to all full time employees (over 120 employees only 5 part time college students). Im worried , heres an example of why, because the company pays in $1100 for employee/spouse and children (medical only), we pay the rest. In 2012 we paid $300/month, as of June 1st our insurance will be 585/month and company will remain to pay the $1100. Insurance companies blame the rate hike on new health care that will be taken effect soon. My husband makes a good salary but half of the employees only make $15-19/hour..that's a large salary cut for a lot of people. The insurance plan also went from bad to worse. Supposedly our plan and premium is #3 out of the best 10 of Missouri companies insurance plans?? So far I see the middle class may suffer the most. There are just so many unknowns with the new health care laws.

I don't see anything positive about it. It seems like the new rate hikes are not balancing out with any improvements.

1. Yeah, this thread is dead, because "Prop C" does not trump federal law. "Prop C" was always a meaningless political gesture.

2. The healthcare reform was a step in the right direction. All parties agreed that healthcare reform is necessary. Generally, the Republicans resisted ANY and ALL changes, despite privately agreeing that something had to be done. As Bill Clinton said during his administration -- if the Democrats achieve a satisfactory healthcare reform, the Republican Party will cease to exist. Thus it is in the Republicans best interest, for self-preservation, to stand against any and all attempts to a meaningful healthcare reform act.

3. As complex as it is, certainly the present law is not the ultimate solution, but it is the ONLY solution on the table right now, short of completely voting it down. Of course, over time and experience, it would be possible (but unlikely because of the monolithic resistance by the Republicans) to "tweak" the existing law and make it better.

4. The lobbyists for the fatcat healthcare business will make sure that the congressmen they have in their back pockets stay there -- both Democrat and Republicans alike.

DAWG:

If the Democrats achieve healthcare reform and the Republican Party ceases to exist, we would have a DICTATORSHIP FORM OF GOVERNMENT. Wouldn't that be ducky. I think that's what Obama wants regardless of the healthcare reform.
I am not against ALL people having healthcare but this thing (Obamacare) is a disaster.
Doctors will quit, retire.......etc.
Fewer doctors, longer waits for app'ts., controlled healthcare by the government, higher premiums. We will be pushed around like a bunch of cattle. Obamacare not only will affect healthcare but they will control our lives. Obamacare is just a start. AND, if you are over 65 yrs. old..........wait and see what you get!!
The government has not taken care of Soc Sec and Medicare funds. Now they say those funds are going bankrupt. Yeah, because of their poor handlings of those 2 programs. Medicaid, on the other hand, is another story. They need to weed out the 'takers'! Give Medicaid to the people that need it and take it away from the leaches and then think how much money that would save. There are jobs that some of those lazy ones could do. I wouldn't be opposed to supplementing their income if they had a low paying job but 'free handouts' to lazy people should stop. I had to work even when I didn't feel like it.

I am sure healthcare needs some reforming but they need to start over. Nancy Pelosi made such a stupid remark when she said "you will find out what is in it after it is passed". That is not ever smart at all. Who would buy a home without even looking at it? If they would, they are stupid!

'nuff said for now!

Reid: Obamacare could be "train wreck" without more money

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., warned Thursday that Obamacare - the health care reform law that he played a key role in shepherding through Congress - risks becoming a "train wreck" because Republicans have resisted adequately funding several key provisions.

Reid's comments echoed Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., who warned last month during a hearing with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius that he sees a "huge train wreck coming down" as Congress works to set up the health insurance exchanges, a key pillar of the law's expansion of health care coverage.

"Max said,'Unless we implement this properly, it's going to be a train wreck.' And I agree with him," Reid said during an interview with conservative talk radio host Rusty Humphries.

Humphries clarified, "So we're not spending enough money, and we're not implementing it properly?"

"Yes," replied Reid. "We have the menu but we don't have any way to get to the menu."

Baucus and Reid's concern stems from an apparent lack of information provided to businesses and consumers about how to navigate the health insurance exchanges set up by Obamacare. Rather than funding public awareness efforts on their own, President Obama determined that he would shift money around within the health care bill to ensure that people purchasing insurance on an exchange are sufficiently informed of their options.

"I wish we had some money to do this on its own," said Reid, "But [the president determined] he's going to take money from some other things that he feels are less important in the health care bill and put it on letting you and others know what's in the bill, and what they can do to either accept parts that would be helpful to them or not."

Well Reid is right about one thing.........it is a train wreck about to happen.
How in the world can we have such stupid people in charge of these programs! They have NO common sense at all!

Obama says he's going to take money from something else.......like they have messed with Soc Sec and Medicare, I suppose! Maybe he should just take it all and then all the senior citizens can be on Medicaid! I know I am being sarcastic but I just don't understand their thinking other than........they want control of our very lives. I believe there is a lot more to this than Obamacare! Scary!
