The workers don't get handouts while working there. I think what the original poster was talking about as far as respect was the agency itself doesn't respect the workers. The workers don't ask for handouts there.....just to be respected as workers who do their job.

DAEOC is not a respected agency. Alot of good workers leave because of the center director and nobody at central office appears to care. The word gets out in the community how the staff has been treated and it makes DAEOC look bad for not helping their employees.

If the last sentence doesn't say,'' It makes DAEOC look bad for not helping their employees,'' then I will eat my hat.

I have to say I agree with you 100%. DAEOC does NOT care how their workers get treated. They have lost a lot of good staff because of a center director who is evil and lies on anyone she comes in contact with just to save her own butt.

Why can't DAEOC keep bus drivers? No body wants the job.

The workers aren't asking for a handout ,they want/need more help and pay for the crap they deal with on a day to day basis. They care way too much about the children and their comfort to use, and spend what money they do make to help make the children happy. And in return they get a slap on the back and a good job, but no respect? No wonder all the good staff members leave! They can go somewhere else get respect and pay! Believe me I know!

I find it odd that someone who can't even pass a background check to take care of the elderly can get a job as an "aid" at the head start. No degree...barely a high school education. I would never feel safe with someone like that being around children.

I would like to know where you get off talking about " the oil blind lady "! I have you know that she probably watched and took care of your children better than some sighted people would! The "oil blind lady" your talking about happens to be my family!! It really pisses me off that stupid people like you have the nerve to judge her because of her sight! I sure am glad you want to talk about a blind person behind a computer with a fake name! She happens to be one of the best women you will EVER meet! ALL people deserve a chance to work whether they have a disability or not! It takes some real stupidity to get on here and judge someone just because of their disabilities!
