I can tell you from what i have heard..They have some serious money issues out there. That lady that took over " Jean" gas run into the ground and gas no sense of leadership or management from what i hear. Which is only hear say remind you. But look at all the people they have laid off this year. There are problems in every company but it seems every time you turn around something negative is being said about that place. So its probably true. They have such a high turnover rate makes you wonder. People helping people isnt a very good motto in my book. Alot of people need help and cant get it because of the idiots abusing the system. My mother cant even get any help on getting her home a little more energy efficent. All those trips thy make could stop yeild help for others. But hey what do i know if just an average everyday citizen.

Our government needs to investigate all these programs until they find the corruption caused by the greedy and unqualified people who have long ago ruined the programs for the elderly and needy children.

When did it become necessary to provide people with free cell phones and 250 free minutes monthly from the government?

Wonder what we would do if we had to live like people lived in the old days? No government assistance of any type? When the funding finally runs out, we may all have to live that way. There will be a lot of crying going on then. Seems like everyone wants something given to them for nothing. It's expected. We're in a sad state of affairs today.
AMEN!!!!!! You are right!!!!!! When this country goes BANKRUPT (and it's coming) what will the "gimme, gimme, gimme" society do then? Too many TAKERS, not enough MAKERS. It comes down to personal responsibility for you and your own family.

yes I believe it's coming too! We will all be raising gardens, canning, take in odd jobs, do what we have to do to make a living and the takers will be crying loudest. All this free government stuff will be gone forever. The gimme gimme society will be crushed.

Great post! With the high employee turnover it makes you wonder why no one wants to work there.

Anyone who has been there knows that the reason why they have such a high turnover rate is because of the center directors. Central office doesn't want to hear it. They don't care what the directors are doing, and let me tell you they are up to NO GOOD! Money can go missing, kids can be left at the wrong place, they don't care!

You are correct about central office. High turnover rate because of "chain of commands." They give center directors way to much power.

Watering hole dries up and the cattle will set there and die waiting on it to rain. To dumb to seek what they need. To lazy to work for it. Get the picture. I remember in the sixties everyone sought work, young and old alike. Before you say they outsourced it I will let you know its because people started playing the system instead of working. Pregnant women, old folks and anyone big enough to hold a hoe could and did chop cotton and work in fields and were healthier for it. The only thing people want to cultivate now is their unearned cut. Before you jump in this conversation I'm talking about poor and rich alike. It a collective change across the board in our society of what can I get for nothing. Working people do it to and I believe we are beyond repair. Everyone is so worried about what someone else is getting and what they themselves aren't that we have become poison to ourselves and society as a whole. Those bitchin about working and taking care of their own are no exception. You can hear it in their atitudes. They would cut their own brothers throat for voicing a need and lock their parents away for being unproductive. None of you are of a higher standard just different yet just as selfish agendas. Try looking out for one another and carrying tour weight as best you can and blame the real culprits in our society the legislation makers. Then do something about it. Then your on the right track to prosperity for all. But I know you are probably to busy to examine the truth much less change yourselves and fight to change our government.

DAEOC is not a respected agency. Alot of good workers leave because of the center director and nobody at central office appears to care. The word gets out in the community how the staff has been treated and it makes DAEOC look bad for not helping their employees.

If you think they aren't respected, then why do you wnat to work there. Nobody cares whether you want to work there or not. Get a real job. Why should they help the employees. The employees are there to work, not get handouts.

@taxpayers!! I agree about the cellphones. That was the most craziest mess. I do feel that elderly nd disabled people should have gotten phones. But the others, no way. And of course there were some folks who abused it by getting more than one phone per family. There is a flaw in any program. Just have to be more careful!!!

Since DAEOC is here for the community you would think they would care what the community thinks about them. Who said anything about wanting to work there?

You sound like management!! Always complaining that no one wants to work management is the reason that no one is interested in working there!

You must be one of those that kiss ass to keep a job. Low income familes have the right to know what is going on with the program. If money is been miss used it should be reported.
You dare call working people kissing ass to keep their jobs! I have watched people use their children to gain freebies. I have listened to people go from charity to church begging. I have watched people ask for money for groceries and when given a food voucher instead they got up and walked out. Teaching your children how to lie, cheat, get pregnant, or steal to make it without working is as low as it gets. I have seen people take their children to the doctor and get mad when the doctor tells them there is nothing wrong with their child. They actually want them to have a disability so they can get a check. I know of 4 and 5 in a house and all on disability. The only disability they have is drugs, alcohol, and laziness. Headstart is a babysitting service. It is proven the children are no more ready for kindergarten then a child that has been home. These people dont want to have their children around or feed them. If they pay no taxes they have no real right or say about this program as far as I am concerned. Oh, by the way, I would crawl on my belly for a job rather than be a pimple on the butt of society and be content with my child doing the same.

The workers don't get handouts while working there. I think what the original poster was talking about as far as respect was the agency itself doesn't respect the workers. The workers don't ask for handouts there.....just to be respected as workers who do their job.
