I heard they shut it because some kids were up there playing on the logs. Don't know if that is true, just what I heard.

I know that Wednesday or Thursday before all the rain came that it was less than a foot from the road so I'd almost bet it's covering the road now. I guess you just want someone to drive right into the river huh? This topic is just dumb... by the way we're under a River Flood WARNING, meaning it is flooded. So if anyone were to get hurt because of negligence to close the gates than the city would probably be liable. You should use your brain for once.

What about all of the years before we had gates? There is a road before you get to the one the water is over. How would the city be responsible? And before you tell someone to use their brain proof read what you write. It should be "THEN the city would prboably be liable" NOT "THAN" so use your brain idiot.

Lmao okay grammar police! You got my own grammatical error and butchered your entire paragraph you just wrote, congratulations you type like a 5th grader. With that in check I'll start by pointing out they use to use sandbags. Also that "road before you get to the one the water is over" is at the same elevation... are you seriously to dense contemplate that hahaha. The city would be liable because they are the ones RESPONSIBLE to put up those sandbags and or barriers, and if they neglect that responsibility then yes. Sorry you got offended by my comment if you're so insecure about your own thoughts that people criticize, I'd be mad if I felt dumb too. Get a life and stop complaining about people doing their jobs maybe you should get your own, you obviously have to much free time on your hands if you have to complain about a barrier.

Last response to you the idiot. only ONE road is covered. So who cares about the elevation. And even when they used sand bags they waited until it was over the second road at least. I was not offended by you i just pointed out that you call someone a name and then make mistakes in your post. and finally "USE TO USE" LOL

The city has nothing to do with when the levee district closes the gates. I hope that all I have to do one day is whine about not being able to watch the river.

Must be nice to have that kind of free time on your hands.

I just called the courthouse and asked,,,,you are misinformed. The bank does not own the park, and neither does the city and never has. For over 50 years it's been an untaxed portion of Caruthersville as it's own entity, the Reynolds Park Association. This has never changed since the late 1950's or so. Now go blow it up someone elses rear, you liar.

the kids were not in waist deep water. they were walking up and down on logs in the water. I watched them for myself.
