Better Yet, That Jamie Jones guy is known in Pastor circles as SWEET WILLIE WINE..That clown is only out for himself, he cares less, whether you're pregnant, dropout or anything else as long as you bring those dallors, You can go to his church and jump, flop, spit, slob, and do back flips all you want to..HE IS A CLOWN AND HIS MINISTRY IS TOO..HE really needs to be ran out of town, with his LOWDOWN, BASESS SELF..

We are proud of Jimmy and William, but overcoming adversity? You want to know about adversity? Gosh, these two young men were blessed with athleticism, they had advantages many, many, other kids could never have.I do not see the need for putting the communities down that bascially supported these two fine representatives of our favorite towns!

MANY kids have come through both schools with as much talent. I don't see the need to name names, but they exist.

Some of the adversity that these two overcame, the others didn't. That's all the report was talking about.

Some poeple gripe about anything....

Yes it's the same one. Trust me when I say this...I found it hard to believe that he had changed. I returned to Caruthersville for a funeral. I sat down with him and the man has really changed. I really wanted to believe he was trying to con me, but I work in an environment where people lie to me everyday and I have to cipher and decipher lies and truths. I think because of his former ways that he still has a side to him that wins people over, but what preacher doesn't that why they are good at what they do. I am a firm believer that GOD can truly change people and why not change someone like him. He definately has done it all and maybe he can help others change. I have tried to get many of my clients to attend church and one of the main reasons they tell me they don't want to go to a particular church is "That preacher can't teach me anything, he hasn't been through what I have"

If we are going to start judging preachers by their past then Jamie Jones is the next Billy Graham. Jamie has done a LOT of things in his past.

He really has changed for the better. I think a lot of people dislike him because of his past. I am sure that you know others will attempt to drag you down when you try to do the right thing. I am sure the more people that persecute him; GOD will continually bless him.I think he makes a better pastor than many because he understands and he has been there. He definately understand young adults, peer pressure and the other burdens they are placed under.

Since everyone seems to have forgotten, the referenced article is about William Moore, not Jamie Jones.

Did you have something else you wanted to say about William Moore or was that it? Get my point.

William Moore is a fine young man who has never forgotten where he came from. He has returned several times to our area and spoke to our youth. I even had lunch with the young man and even helped make sure his mother was able to go see him play in last year's Cotton Bowl. Funny, during all this time I have known William, he has never mentioned Jamie Jones. He has mentioned Linsey White and his family several times. You get my point?

Maybe you should read the newspaper article that clearly mentions his name. I was responding to another conversation that derived from speaking about the young man. I think it is wonderful that anyone from Caruthersville can make it. I did. Although I do not know Mr. Moore personally I too being from Caruthersville am very proud of him. There were some negative things said about Pastor Jones and I was giving my input on that particular subject. You felt inclined to let me know that I strayed from the subject matter and I felt the need to let you know that I say what I want when I want. By the way I did not take your comment as a negative. I value people and their opinions.

I read the article you are talking about but from what I've read it's Pastor Jones talking about William not the other way around. I didn't mean to seem negative toward Pastor Jones either. Jamie has done a lot in his lifetime that was wrong but he has tried to make ammends with his maker and help his community. You have a right to voice your opinion as do I. I think we are both in agreement that anything or person who helps the youth of our city is somebody we want around. Nothing will please me more than to watch William play ball for a NFL team next year on Sunday afternoon's after going to see Pastor Jones deliver his sermon that morning.

I have been corrected regarding the article. It has been several days since I read it, however it pleases me to see that we both agree regarding youths of today. I have not heard the Pastor preach, although I realized when I was there how many teens seek out his church. So I sought him out to speak with him. Caruthersville is very dear to my heart since I was born and raised there and would love to see the kids growing up prosper and become well rounded citizens.

Maybe he discovered, like L. Ron Hubbard, that there is more money to be made in religion?

Both Jamie Jones and William Moore are from Hayti. Jamie now pastors a church in Caruthersville. Jimmy Jackson (from Cruthersvile) and William Moore played for Mizzou. William is now with the Falcons. There were many people that help play a part in William making it, but he most credit goes to himself. If we had to pick another I would say his mom & granda. Especially his grandma, she was my headstart teacher as well as many others. If you watched some of his high school games you would see that there were others just as good as William. He often say that he wishes some others could have made it with him. The Whites, Jamie, and many others looked out for William and others youngens coming up. I'm not sold on the Whites, because if they just wanted to help a poor black kid in Hayti thats about 70% of the kids and they only help William. Versus Jamie and some of the others they try to help any of them rather they are a good athelete or not. Why only William for the Whites? I have my opinion. Theres people like Timmy Gardner that looked out for a lot of the young folks (mostly atheletes I must say) but even after high school he oftens employees them until they decide to move on. To sum it up, there are several that don't care who gets the credit, as long as the kids are doing good!
