You know I went to school with Billy Stanfield and I was glad to hear that he got chief of police but I was disappointed today,,heres why,,.So I go out today since its a holiday and attempt to visit some old friends. Back years ago a group of friends shared a couple o six packs, today they were all passing around a glass pipe. Here I was trying to keep my beer down and they were just sitting in the front yard in broad daylight passing around a glass pipe. So I leave that place and go to another old buddies house and while I was there a black guy came in and sold dope , I was offered to share but no thank you.
Billy Joe Stanfield were a long way from Mrs Kifers English class ,and the class of 87 was some time ago. But you took a job so get off your lazy ass and do it.

Its all about the paperwork. I know for a fact that Randy Trim went to a house on some type of call and when the renters answered the door, Randy was hit in the face with a cloud of pot smoke. He looked at the man and said Im not here for that.

I too visit Steele a few times each year and it seems that Steele has been going down the sewer for a few years when it comes to dope, controlled pills and people on welfare/government programs. I watch people buying dope in the parking lots at the Pig and see them selling dope on about evey corner of the streets. They sale dope within 100 yards of the Chief of Police's own house and nothing is done. The dope dealers seem to run the town and the police seem to turn their heads. I know it is hard to rid a city of dope but at least you can shoot one of them every once in a while to get their attention. Steele is dead and looking for a place to be buried. No jobs and a majority of the people could care less as long as you leave them alone. Sad situation and Billy Joe can't fix it.

Its not that he cant, he wont. Look at that girl that got hit by the train, she was at a dope house a known dope house but still nothing is done. Her family should sue the city cause the cops wont do their job. It might not do no good but at least it will get some attention. These are bad times people, and the dope is getting thick.

You can't blame that accident on Billy Joe or the police department. That girl knew who she was dealing with and she is the one that made the decisions she did that night. All of them. You can't get any worse than those Cunninghams on S. Walnut. She had been with them and their antics for a while and before them others almost as bad.

I understand there is a drug problem here, there always has been, but I disagree with the statement about Steele going down hill. We have a lot more jobs now than ever before. We got the truck stop, motel, 2 dollar stores, flash mart, etc.. When I as growing up there was nothing here. I think Steele has grown a lot. I don't think you can blame Billy Joe for the drug problem. Its a problem that we as a community have to tackle together.

I blame Billy Joe for not making a attempt to do his job . With all this dope in this town, when was the last time any of our local police made a drug bust ?
Im not talking about some kid with a joint, I mean a drug bust.

Yes I heard about the lady that was hit by a train trying to retrieve her dope she had dropped. That was a trajedy but the fact that she had just bought the dope and was trying to cross the train tracks is beyond me. The dope problem is horrible in Steele and there is never an arrest for dope dealers or those using dope or illegal prescribed drugs. It seems there is dope being sold on every street corner in Steele and on every street. It is time for the police to do their jobs and start to arrest these dealers or start to kill them. That would be the best solution since a dead dope dealer will not be back on the streets, EVER. But the people has to want it to happen and I don't think there is enough of these people left in Steele. It seems that most of the old people just want to be left alone. I hate to see my hometown turn into a dope haven for dopers but I'm afraid this has already happened.

Justice, I think you answered your own question. And in today's USA, you can do stupid shitt. When USA gets balls, like some countries in Europe are coming to realize, they will start executing drug dealers. We just got to be man enough to support these groups.

They have been reported to the police. People have reported so much and nothing has been done that they don't even try to report anymore because they already know the cops aren't going to do anything. It takes time and work to make a case and they cops don't want to bother with it. They get paid the same to ride up and down the street and visit with folks.
