IRS employees have a prominent role in Obamacare, but their union wants no part of the law.

National Treasury Employees Union officials are urging members to write their congressional representatives in opposition to receiving coverage through President Obama’s health care law.

The union leaders are providing members with a form letter to send to the congressmen that says “I am very concerned about legislation that has been introduced by Congressman Dave Camp to push federal employees out of the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program and into the insurance exchanges established under the Affordable Care Act.”

It seems Our Own Federal Employees See A Bad Deal that's called ObamaCare!! They want NO part of it Even tho they are the one's who will implement parts of it!!Wake up America!!!

This Is Fair,
Why does the IRS Employee Union want "NO PART OF OBAMACARE" you ask? The answer to this question is simple.

The IRS Employee Union is concerned that IRS employees will be increasingly TEMPTEED TO DROP COVERAGE THROUGH THEIR UNION PLANS - and join one of the Healthcare Exchanges offered in Obamacare.

You see...

The IRS Employee union plan DOES NOT offer coverage to dependants up to 26 years of age - like Obamacare does.

The IRS Employee union plan DOES NOT ELIMINATE life time coverage limits like Obamacare does.

The IRS Employee union plan DOES extend coverage to people with pre-existing conditions.

Even though employees will have the option of continuing their health care coverage through their own employeers coverage - some employees might find it more desirable to sign up with one the Insurance Exchange Healthcare plans which is a part of Obamacare.

Most likely, we will see more unions objecting to their employees being able to participate in the Insurance Exchange part of Obamacare.

I don't blame the IRS, Labour unions, federal employees
and democrats in general for not wanting anything to do with Obamacare. I don't want anything to do with the stupid shit either.

Healthy 20 year olds shouldn't have to pay $400 a month to subsidize old dingbats like alumni 61 and all the lazy check drawing trash who are too lazy to work.

You have certainly chosed a fitting moniker for yourself!

And, you are a fine one to be calling me stupid!!!

I doubt seriously if you even read my post all the way through. If you did - you surely did not understand what I was saying.

What I'm saying, is - many of those IRS employees MAY FIND IT MORE ATTRACTIVE TO GO WITH ONE OF THE INSURANCE COMPANIES IN THE HEALTHCARE EXCHANGES - WHICH ARE A PART OF OBAMACARE.

Now, is this too difficult for you to understand? I've tried to spell this is out in the simplist of terms, so even A CHILD COULD UNDERSTAND. But, obviously you don't have the comprehension capacity of child!

You don't seem to understand there are instances where it would be more attractive to some Federal employees to go with one of the INSURANCE COMPANIES IN THE HEALTHCARE EXCHANGES (which are part of the Obamacare act)

Of course, unions would not want to see this happen, because they want to keep all their members under their own health care plans (even though it may not offer as GOOD OF BENEFITS as what they could find in Obamacare).

You are also very wrong - the president & congressmen & senators are not on the same health care program as the rank & file Federal employees. Just go on the internet & check it out. You'll probably see this confirmed in several websites.

Same Stuff,
Do you have the capacity to understand what I was saying in my post. Go back & read it very carefully & if you don't understand what I was saying, go back & read it again.

I cannot believe you would have posted what you did if you had any understanding of what I was saying in my post...

The union is protesting because they are afraid in some instances - their employees may find A BETTER DEAL IN OBAMACARE!!!

CarlosDanger,
What do you mean healthy 20 yr olds shouldn't have to pay $400 a month to subsidize old dingbats like me???

You don't have a clue!!!

I worked 37 years.

I paid into Medicare & Social Security every payday for 37 Years!!!

Today, I also pay over $100. a month (out of pocket) for my Medicare insurance coverage.

Today, I also pay $174. dollars a month (out of pocket) for my Medicare Supplemental insurance coverage (AARP).

Today, I also pay $60. dollars a month (out of pocket) for my part D prescription drug coverage (AARP).

So, that means, today - I'm paying a TOTAL OF $334. A MONTH for my health care coverage! But, don't forget, I also paid (every payday) into the Medicare fund for 37 YEARS WHILE I WAS STILL WORKING.

Now, for the last 5 years, I have only been to my doctor 2 times per year for checkups & bloodwork.

Do you understand - I have been paying more into MEDICARE (out of pocket) than I have ever incurred in medical bills - FOR FIVE YEARS!!!

And, I have been paying much much MORE into AARP for my Medicare supplement insurance that I have ever incurred in medical bills - FOR FIVE YEARS!!!

As far as my Medicare Part D prescription Drug plan - which costs me $60. a month. My (out of pocket) costs are just a little bit more than $60. a month. So, I'm not even breaking even on my Part D prescrition drugs. In other words - it's costing me more in premium payments than Medicare Part D is paying for my drugs.

SO, HOW IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT'S HOLY DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE HAVING TO PAY $400. A MONTH TO SUPPORT MY MEDICAL BILLS???

It would seem that I'm paying all my medical bills (AND THEN SOME) out of pocket with my Medicare & insurance premeium payments.

Some of you young hot shots on this forum are so down-right dumb & clueless - I don't see how any of you managed to make through grade school much less Jr. High & High School. And forget college - I don't believe anyone on this forum had/has the intelligence to even think about getting into college!!!

What does it matter whether the president, congressmen & senators get the same healthcare coverage as rank & file Federal workers???

This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact the IRS Employee Union is concerned about their employees dumping their Federal Employee Benefits Insurance - and going with one of the Insurance Companies in the Healthcare Exchange - which is part of Obamacare...

More Obamacare double-talk...

In order to ensure Americans understand how to access the benefits available to them when many provisions of the Affordable Care Act go online October 1, the Obama administration announced last month that it is setting up a call center that will be accessible to Americans 24 hours a day.

One branch of that call center will be located in California’s Contra Costa County, where, reportedly, 7,000 people applied for the 204 jobs. According to the Contra Costa Times, however,“about half the jobs are part-time, with no health benefits — a stinging disappointment to workers and local politicians who believed the positions would be full-time.” The county supervisor, Karen Mitchoff, called the hiring process “a comedy of errors” and said she “never dreamed [the jobs] would be part-time.”

The Times indicates that a job posting advertised all of the jobs as full-time, and one call center employee, who said no reason for the apparent change was provided, told the paper,”It reminded me of that George Clooney movie where he goes around the country firing people (‘Up in the Air’). The woman said,‘I know you were led to believe you would be full-time, but things have changed…You are actually ‘part-time intermittent.’”

CORRECTION!

I was mistaken about congressmen & senators health insurance. They ARE on the same health care program as other Federal employees, but they have ADDITIONAL PERKS.

The difference in their coverage and that of rank & file Federal employees is that - they (congressmen & senators) can be treated at any military hospital (but not their family).

Congressmen & Senators also get FREE (out-patient) medical care at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington D.D.(but not their families).

why should presidents, congressman and government employees not only get exempted from Obamacare, but get a much better healthcare plan subsidized by you and me...

Same goes for their retirement plans. Why do we continue to fund their luxurious retirements while saddled with the social security ponds scheme.

Under Obama, the rich have gotten richer and the poor, poorer. But then, that's what the democrats want. Poor, dependent voters.

Exactly, I hate the double standard the government has put itself into. Its good for us but not you, even though you are paying for it. Thomas Jefferson said, a little revolution is good. I think we are heading back to that time.
