I think they should appoint Eddie Holloway, or Frank. The town realy is in need of some good and someone with morals and respect.
That's the funniest thing I've heard in a very long time, Eddie Holloway and MORALS in the same paragraph.

I think Earl Bullington would be good for the job. Business man, who knows the town, the people, and no axes to grind.
If Frank really isn't interested, then why doesn't he remove himself. I DO think he wants the money.
City hall needs to be cleaned out. Christy Watkins should have been fired long ago and as for the other sour person, she needs to be gone too! They do not represent the office well at all and needs to be replaced!!!
I have known Earl for over 60 years. Earl is far too smart to have any desire to be mayor of Caruthersville.

I think Rick Davis should probably be given a second chance. I don't remember any scandals or really much of anything bad he did during his term. Can't be any worse than what we had, or any of the others interested in the position.
Mr Rushing is doing a fine job could he not run for Mayor? The water department is going down hill the water leak on ward would of been fixed a long time ago if the mayor was still in office! Where is the leader ship? Is Mr Lee over this now?

Well aren't we all a bunch of glorified politicians?

Who would want that job for the pay it pays?$18K to put up with non stop BS 24-7 from employee's to disgruntled residents who complain that the garbage truck came by too loudly. Know I wouldn't.

This town has went no where but down hill, and not to blame the city gov't but the blame is on the people that reside within it.

Are there good people in C'Ville? YES! THERE ARE!

The problem is the "power" control who dont want any infrastructure change to progress the city forward, just keep it like it is and revelry in the good ol days of the past that C'Ville isnt today.

I hear more about how C'Ville use to be than what its going to be. The sad thing is, THATS ALL I HEAR!

Why is it the city is not trying to sell itself to attract new business? How and why should we when we have a bunch old farts who dont want the city to change because its not what THEY want because they're still stuck in the past of what Caruthersville ISNT today.

You cant go forward when you have negative people in control and large land owners and allow the wealth in the community to voice their opinion only,..and that is why Caruthersville is dying a slow death.

It's a no brainer why people are seeking a chance to leave C'Ville. It once stood for a great place to raise a family....note the word, "once". This is why the town is the way it is today.

Stop reliving the past and start living for the future, and as far as I can see it..C'Ville's future, has none. Not when you have people that dont want it to change to benefit themselves, and not the community as a whole.

C'ville is what it is, because too few people work for a living and too many draw checks. Prosperity provides for better city infrastructure and business climate. Poverty has the opposite effect.

Poverty is a regional problem not unique to the C'ville city limits. Doesn't matter who you elect, if they have no money to work with, things will only be marginally changed.

Change the culture of poverty and "working the welfare system" instead of actually working. Pay a few taxes instead of sucking tax dollars up. Get off your dead, lazy, costly to us all asses and do something to make the city better. Otherwise expect more of the same.

30-40 years from today, maybe less, c'ville will consist of a few privately owned cotton gins, a gas station, maybe 2, maybe a half dozen churches and a local restaurant for the farmers to gather and discuss how "bad farming is going" (wish someone had thrown me into that briar patch)- courthouse will still be there for the 5-6000 people left in Pemiscot county - one bank will still be there, a flip of a coin as to which one - bank will be owned by the farmers - mayor will be a farmer - only 3 council positions left, all held by farmers or workers of a farmer - from 13th street south, west and east will be farm land - only land not farmed will be the cemetery(s)- no need for a high school as all of the few kids will either be in a private school somewhere or bused to the local county school - farmers will have their oasis and you will rarely see them - they will have their "summer" homes elsewhere, but will keep their Pemiscot county residence so they can continue to keep their thumb on the pulse -so life goes on for the few - bitching, griping, wish we could get out of here dreams, and a few churches preaching that better times are coming (pass the offering plate please)will continue - let's hear it for the farmers - sadly the next best thing that will happen for good ole c'ville will be the 2053 New Madrid earthquake! Amen
