Is Paul Ryan completely nuts? Recently he submitted his REVISED BUDGET to congress. This new budget still includes voucherizing Medicare & slashing Medicaid for millions of poor people.

Ryan's latest budget is even more insane than his first budget!

He's still trying to repeal Obamacare (even though it is now the law of the land). But, Ryan wants to keep Obama's 716 billion in savings to the program. Ryan also wants to keep all taxes Obamacare imposes on medical equipment & tanning booths.

But, the biggest joke of all is that Paul Ryan (as predicted) also wants to cut taxes on rich people from 39.5 to 25% & 10% to everybody else.

Every expert says there is no way Ryan can mathematically balance the budget without raising our current taxes and CERTAINLY NOT BY LOWERING TAXES!!!

I think Paul Ryan needs to throw away all his Aynd Rand Books! Yep, it appears Ryan has read Aynd Ryand's book "Atlas Shrugged" one too many times.

Paul Ryan has been Hooked on Aynd Rand's teachings since he was in high school.

If he doesn't kick the AYND RYAND habit - he's going to soon be drummed out of politics & maybe even into an insane asylm!

Paul Ryan is quickly becoming a laughing stock of the whole country.

Whats so sad is that most right wingers dont even realize how bad of a screwing Ryan is trying to give them. Fox news has dumbed them down so bad and spun the facts that some of them think Ryan's budget is good for them. But the fact is: if your not rich, it will cost you over $2000 more out of your pocket each year. But Republicans think that is OK as long as the wealthiest Americans get a better tax break.

I wish people would do their homework and turn off the propaganda before voting. The Republican party would become extinct if they did.

Alumni,

I constantly hear you talking about vouchering. Do you even have any idea what the program is or how it works or do you simply have the left's dogma about it to ape?

I swear I can come on here any day I wish to do so and I see the same inane posts from the same uneducated people who are good little sheep who follow their party line.

Gene is like the bully who gets his ass kicked. He whines and sulls up, but continues to throws rocks from behind someone else. You can tell he had no home training. Most likely raised by grandma...

He uses more names on here than pills made by Bayer. His names are legion, same sick personality.

I assure you, I DID NOT COPY & POST THIS THREAD!!! I did not have to, because on EVERY NEWS SOURCE, BOTH LIBERAL & CONSERVATIVE & all the other sources, we can see & hear Paul Ryan telling us what his insane budget entails.

First of all, I DO NOT COPY & PASTE EVER!!! I don't have to because, I've got a brain - and I use it. But, I do keep up with what is going on in this country...

It's hard to believe you don't know what Paul Ryan's voucherizing Medicare entails.

This is how it will work.

Instead of the Medicare we now have. Paul Ryan's plan would give each Medicare recepient a lump sum (in the form of a voucher) which the recepient can use to buy their own private health care insurance.

SO WHERE IS THE BIG SAVINGS HERE?

The answer is, it's basically a way to deny health care to people (while denying that you're doing so).

Paul Ryan's plan won't say, "We won't pay for this or that". No, it will just hand people a voucher and let them discover that it won't buy adequate insurance coverage.

It's health care rationing (pure & simple), but by money instead of deliberate choice!

So, instead of making choices, Paul Ryan's voucherizing plan will let people die because of inadequate assets.

And this is what Paul Ryan & some Republicans call FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY...

Sick personality? Have you looked at yourself lately? It is you who is calling Gene a "child molester" and claiming to be of Christian faith. Oh ye little of faith, your more a pew sitter than anything. For years you have degraded people in this forum and you have no remorse for anything you have called them. You have claimed to be a church going person but far from it as from what I can see. You purposely haunt this forum for attention you can not get at home or you havent the guts to speak your mind publicly. No, you sit there behind a computer on your throne in your sad miserable little world of hate and name call at a whims notice when ever some one says something you dont like or most of all when its the cold hard truth about you. Your a ass clown of a fool, and your kids will grow up in society thinking just like you. Thats the sad part of your life is that you actually mated with something and produced off spring that will grow up and be bigoted racists and become a nobody just like you. Its one thing to argue your point but when you name call people for the reason of they upset you for speaking their minds, it just tells that you are a weak uneducated raised in a welfare community and think people owe you something. No one owes you a damn thing . You're the cowards coward and you always be a ball less cowards coward because your own daughter probably has to lock her door at night because of your ongoing infatuation with calling people "child molesters" has some prevalence coming through the family gene pool on your side.

Well you certainly have the lefty dogma down pat and while you seem to half way to understand what the vouchering system is, you don't completely understand it because you have never studied it for yourself, only accepted what the left has said.

Yes, you are given a voucher to get your own health insurance but what you have failed to understand is this would allow you to select a plan that is tailor made to your needs. You have also failed to understand that if your voucher is worth amount X and the insurance you want costs less, you pocket the difference and, inversely, if the coverage you want costs more you have to make up the difference.

How does it save cash? That should be self-evident. Instead of paying the medical bills that the government is paying now, the insurance companies would be paying that. Let's say you had a surgical procedure. Instead of the government paying a percentage of those bills, the insurance company would do it. The only part that is missing is that there needs to be a clearly defined set of laws to oversee the insurance companies. Further, should a company prove itself unreliable, then that company would be barred from being involved in the voucher program in the future.

I guess the left never explained any of that so you don't understand it.

You are right, I don't even know how to copy & past! I have NEVER felt the need to copy & past. As a matter of fact - I'm rather proud of this fact!

I can watch something on tv or read a story in the newspaper or other sources & make my own opinions about the subject matter & then write up a post (in my own words & intellect) based on information gleened from these sources on tv or newspapers etc.

If you just copy & paste something - it sorta seems like cheating to me. Most of the stuff people copy & paste is usually long, long & boring. I'd much rather read a well thought out, well written post (that is composed by the poster - rather than any copy & paste stuff any day).

Besides, most of the copy & paste stuff on Topix comes from radical right-wing sources. Usually you can this by reading just the first few sentences. I VERY SELDOM EVER READ ANY OF THIS RIGHT-WING TOXIC NONSENSE POSTS PAST THE FIRST SENTENCE OR TWO.

What you don't understand is that (by today's costs) for even a healthy person from age 70-90 yrs old, the monthly premium for a good private insurance policy would most likely run from $1000. to $1500. per month (minimum).

And for a very sick person, this could run from $1600. to $2500. per month or even more.

Now, this could run as high as $18,000. per year (in private insurance premiums) to cover a healthy Medicare recipient.

It could also run as high as $36,000. per year (in private insurance premiums) to cover a very sick Medicare recipeint.

DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE OUR GOVERNMENT IS GOING TO SEND EACH MEDICARE RECEPIENT A $18,000 OR A $25,000 VOUCHER PER YEAR TO BUY PRIVATE INSURANCE WITH???

Now, they have already stated that every recepient would receive the same lump sum benefit. But, they said nothing about the difference that healthy & sickly Medicare recipients would have to pay for their insurance through private companies.

This old song & dance about selecting a plan that is taylor made to suit your needs is just blowing smoke!!!

It has already been calculated (by experts) that if Medicare is turned into a voucher system it will wind up costing EACH MEDICARE RECEPIENT OVER $4,000. PER YEAR (OUT OF POCKET)!!!

If this is not RATIONING HEALTH CARE (without admitting that you are rationing health care)- I don't what else you could call it!
Because, How many elderly people would be able to affore an extra $4,000. per year for health care?

This will make it impossible for many people to be able to afford an insurance policy that would be adequate to cover their medical needs.

I base this information on quotes I got from several insurance companies a few years ago when I was just 60 yrs old. It would have cost me over from $600-$700 per month to cover me (a very healthy person).

Luckly, I was able to take out a policy from AARP (which didn't cover everything) for less that $300 per month. I carried this policy until I was old enough for Medicare. Thankfully, being in good health - I never had to file any claims.

I shudder to think what the monthly premiums would cost (with private insurance now) for me. The estimate amounts I have
shown above may actually be too low...

Alumni,

Would you tell me where you got your numbers from so I can study those in context?

Also, there have been amounts for the voucher mentioned. We have no idea if the vouch would be for $18,000 or $18.

Until the full details of the plan are released, I shall wait and see without passing judgement.
