The Zanza bar always had liquor license as far back as I can remember. There was a front and rear door to the bar and a front and side door to the club side. You had to go through side door of club into the back door to bar to get your drinks. You could order drinks and waitress would serve you. Later they cut a window in the bar and served people on the dance floor side. They also put in a door on the west side of club where people could enter from parking lot.

The B&B only sold beer but you could take a bottle in if you paid a fee. The fee was so high it was like you paid for your booze twice. lol

I went by there last night and there's nothing left but a pile of burning rubble.

Concord boy Yep a very long time ago! There use to be some real knock down/drag outs at the B& B. Remember one night I walked in and a beer bottle crashed on the wall about time I walked in, so I turned my ass areound and walked back out. LMAO

Yea it was know as a bad place. When I was in the army it was one of the places on our off limits list when we came home on leave. I went there with some friends one night and they had a band. Somebody requested a song and the band said they didn't know it. Whoever it was wanted to argue about it and the guitar player hit him with his guitar and broke it. That set off the whole place fighting(not me). They beat the hell out of the drums and anything else they could break. I only went there a few times because of all the fights, especially on weekends! Ron S do you remember when they put the new road in to Gobler? It rained a lot and the road was nothing but mud. There was one lane where lots of cars had rutted it out all the way to the B&B. People would do anything to get to the B&B. Crazy! Including me! Haha

Roy Selvage built a club called The Driftwood, was later bought by a doctor from Mamphis and the name changed to Bad Bobs. Is that the one your asking about?1250

I don't know who the Ron above is, sure as hell is not me! I've known all the Brackens most all my life and we were always good friends. I go back a long ways knowing the Brackens!

I remember the one you're talking about. You could take a gallon jug to the drive up window and get it filled with beer for 50 cents. It was not the driftwood. That came later. The one he's talking about was in the late 50's early 60's. The REAL Ron S should remember it. It was before you get to the curve and the building may still be there.

I think it was the old Ladys Club building but for the life of me I can't remember the name. I think the building is still there but wouldn't bet on it. I do remember going there.

I can't remember either. Went there several times too. I have asked some of my old time buddies and they can't either. It's hell being old! Haha. It was right on the hiway 84 before the curve into caruthersville. Maybe some night it'll come to me in a dream.
There also was a bar/club right on the river by the ferry at caruthersville and I can't remember it's name either. Somebody help me out!

I said Ladys club but ment Womens Club. Remember the bar at ferry landing but can't remember who ran it. There was joint at cotton wood point, believe the name was The Red Barn. Also one at Stubb Town that was where Jerry James and his wife had a shoot out and she was killed. Remember the Cozy Corner? lol
