Ask that question when you are pinned in your car, needing the Jaws of Life to get you out. It's easy to dog on first responders whilst cramming twinkies down your gullet. (for anyone who dogs on them)

I hope I never need them, but just in case, Good Job. Who pays for their training? City, County or State.

God bless our first responders! They never know what kind of situation they will be in until they get to the scene and i know it must be hard on them. People in this line of work are to be applauded. I wish you all joy and peace and happiness. Thanks for a job well done!

I think they all need updated training. They do a great job and don't get the recognition they deserve. But things are always changing so I think its important for them to always stay on top of things. Someone should sponsor some new training classes for them.

You would think the city would offer them assistance for additional training. The responders should not have to spend their own money for training. It's enough that they give freely of their time.

I agree with you .So many people don't know how hard that test is to pass. Just getting to be a first responder says a lot about the person . There was a fellow here a few years back "don't even remember his name" that i didn't like . Then one night about mid night i called for an ambulance and low and behold guess who showed up first. Btw he didn't like me either. Anyway he said don't worry sir we'll do the best we can to make you confortable . By the time my vitals were taken by him and he made the calls he needed to make to stableize me i liked him a whole lot better before he left . I can't say that i have ever liked to see anyone any better than when i need one of these fellows .

More people from the fire department want first responder training but it has to be paid out of pocket not to mention they have to find on their own a training facility. This fire department needs alot of things but there is just no money.

How can there not be enough money to take precautions to save someones life? If someone will start a fund for someone to go i'll donate to it. Maybe there is one i don't really know.

The first responders on the fire department and police department do great. I wish more of them were better trained and actually knew more, but the ones who have had all the training and the others who help them do a great job.

there isnt a whole lot a first responder can do,those guys are not paramedics, they are very limited to what they can do.They just try to keep the situation under control until the EMT's get there so i give them an a plus on just doing what they do and at least giving an effort and caring.
