Smoke-free Kansas

Is anyone else concerned about the new law going into effect that will make Kansas a smoke-free state? The state government is going to protect our health by instituting this law, but the state-run casinos will be exempt. Therefore, if you own a bar down the street from the casino, I will not be able to smoke in your establishment because of health care concerns. However, I will be able to go down the street to the casino and smoke all I want because it's run by the state and they want my money. I think if Kansas is going to be smoke-free in regard to tobacco use in public places, it should be across the board. If it's really to save lives like they're saying, isn't my life in just as much danger in one of their casinos? How ludicrous!

If you don't like smokers than stay out of places where they smoke.

I am not a smoker but this new law disgusts me. How many more rights are going to be stripped from us. If a business will lose money because they allow people to smoke, trust me they will make it non-smoking. Since when does the state get to decide how you can cater to your customers. Are they going to make it illegal to give out free hot dogs and soda for customer appreciation, because they are unhealthy to.
