Years ago, there was a letter to the editor in the Hays paper about a racetrack being constructed in Hays. The writer warned that the noise level would be loud enough to be heard in Hays, but I didn't believe that would happen. Well, it has! Do races really need to go on late into the night? Thursday nights? School nights? We pity the poor people who live near the Fairgrounds! Our quiet evenings are gone.
