My son went to a preschool in Manassas. If I had to do it all over again, I would go with St. Paul in Haymarket. I have heard wonderful things about that school.

My child goes to Rainbow Station. He has been there a short time but so far so good. We are very happy with Rainbow Station. After our horrible experience at the Dominion Valley Minnieland we decided to change. We toured many facilities beacause we were so nervous about making the wrong school choice as we did with Minnieland. Rainbow Station stood out to us. So far my child has adjusted very well!

I toured St. Pauls recently and have to admit that it isn't the same school as in years past. The director and other employees left last year and started an all girls christian school in Gainesville, St. Annes School for Girls. We enrolled there.
Have you checked out Haymarket Baptist? They may be on a wait list but that's a good bet too.

We have personal experience with St. Paul and Little Lambs. Have to agree with previous poster, St. Paul isn't what it was. At all. They're still coasting on their former reputation but even that is starting to crumble if you do a few web searches. We had major issues there with the administration as well as the general curriculum and its insistence that all children are to be quiet little robots who learn by rote. We are MUCH happier at Little Lambs.

I've heard Little Lambs will try to brainwash your kid.

Out of all the schools my husband and I checked out ....we were most impressed by St. Anne's Academy for girls just outside of Haymarket. Not just for the Christian enviornment but the staff is kind and attentive. Learning all about horses and teaching them how to ride is what sold our girls. I personally like their uniforms and so did my daughters. They were very happy to be accepted into the school.

I'm so glad you guys settled on St. Anne's! We absolutely love it there! They have Ballet and Piano lessons as well! The education there is top notch and the values they teach are priceless.

Uh, that's retarded. I'm not even remotely religious and no brainwashing was ever attempted on my many kids that went there. They do have a church in there so you have to expect some level of introduction to religion/christianity if you send you kid there but brainwashing is not going on there. We send our kids to preschool for the interaction with other kids, anyone thinking the educational opportunities at any of these preschools will make or break your Harvard/Yale application is kidding themselves.

I don't recommend St. Paul's in Haymarket at all! Have had a personal experience with my 2 children there last school year. They have lost a lot of families since the current principal started about a year ago.

Have you looked at Little Graces in The Plains? It is a wonderful, loving environment. They have small classes and amazing teachers. The kids go to chapel, art, music, science and spanish, in addition to their regular class time. They also have field trips, many family events as well as after school and summer classes. My daughter was very prepared for public school when she left. Their website is www.gracetheplains.org/littlegraces .

Good luck in your search!

Erika...why is that?

My children have been going to Rainbow Station all year and we have been very happy. It is much better than the place we were at last year.

Is there an update on St Paul's? There seems to be a lot of negative postings in 2010-11 but haven't seen much since. I'm thinking about sending my daughter there and would like to get a current opinion. I know a couple people with kids there and they love it. But then read these bad reviews and wonder. They are growing rapidly. Three kindergarten classes for next year and maybe four. So they must be doing something right.

On St Anne's, where is this school. Is there an actual building or is it all online/home schooling?

Last weekend saw signs on Rt 29 right after passing over Vint Hil Rd for a Princess Preschool early literacy program. Sounds interesting but cannot find their website. Just saw their ad for a tea with Snow White we plan to attend on Sept 13.
A princess preschool sounds pretty cool and if they focus on building reading skills it is worth a stop.
Hear good things about St. Anne's and St. Pauls too. We hear that other preschools (Compass, Minnieland etc are not preparing children for kindergarten. Little Graces closed awhile ago. Heard all the teachers were hired by Linton Hall for elementary grades.

My daughter is getting ready to start preschool and she couldn't be more excited. My husband and have been looking at different preschools in the area and we would like any advice. We had an idea of where we would like to enroll her but we are keeping our options open.
