Pembrooke isn't Victory Lakes. Victory Lakes is a very nice neighborhood, depending on what you're looking for.

My home is in Victory Lakes, and when we bought the home all the paperwork said "Pembrooke". I'm not exactly sure what the relationship is.

I don't live in Victory Lakes but I do live in Gainesville. My husband takes the train every day which is just a couple of minutes drive from Victory Lakes. It is an hour each way but instead of fighting traffic he reads the paper and drinks a cup of coffee.

Oasis???!!!! It's a speeder's paradise. Almost no one stop for stop signs and many go way over 25 mph. I won't even let my kids go out of their fenced yard. What a nightmare of a neighborhood. Sucks.

Does anyone commute from the Bristow area to Clarendon Courthouse? Considering buying a house in the area, and would love to hear suggestions and actual commute times for those of you who commute. Thanks!

My family and I will be moving to Victory Lakes in August. We are looking for a preschool in the area for my son who will be 4 at the beginning of September. We are Catholic, so we would like to get him into a Catholic preschool, but if there are no availabilities, we will look at other preschools. We were also wondering about prices for preschool. Does anyone have any advice?

There was a thread just about preschools so you could find that. St. Paul's in Haymarket comes to mind, although that may not be an easy drive. Are you looking for full time (day care) or part time?

We are looking for part-time preschool or a part-time pre-K program.

Melanie- All Saints in Manassas has a preschool/ pre-k program. It is a quick ride from Victory Lakes. St. Paul's in Haymarket will likely have space and is not too bad of a drive. Many in Victory Lakes attend Haymarket Baptist (which has a long waiting list) and Grace Methodist on Wellington in Manassas. Daytime Playtime has no religious affiliation at all, but does usually have space. Also- Manassas Presbyterian is popular and well liked and is a little over 3 miles from Victory Lakes and usually has space. The Freedom Center is close as well and their preschool usually has space. There is a catholic church in Warrenton with a preschool, but that would be a bit of a hike 3 or 5 days a week!

Also, Greenwich Presbyterian on Vint Hill Rd is not far from Sudley Manor Rd. I sent 2 of my kids there and preferred their smaller class sizes over Haymarket Baptist, where my first child attended. There were several Catholic families enrolled in our class. We paid 260/month for 4 mornings /week.

Check out Little Lambs Village Preschool on Rt 29 next to Mc Donald's. My children went there and loved it. They are affiliated with Church of the Word.

Also there is Linton Hall School, which is a private Catholic school (up through 8th grade) which also has a preschool.

This probably will be a more expensive option than most of the others listed earlier though...

If you're willing to drive just a few minutes further, St. Paul's School in Haymarket is lovely. They have a wonderful preschool and are expanding into a full elementary school. Worth the drive.

I found this old thread since my family is considering a gone in Victory Lakes. Can I get a current opinion in two on your experience with that area? My husband would commute on the VRE to Metro Center, we think this shoukd take about 1.5 hours. Read the previous posting about Megan's Law and did see the registered offenders. Anyone have any concerns about that? Is it affecting your home prices or the way your children play outside? Thanks

My children have always been very safe playing outside. There is only one sex offender in the neighborhood that I know of, he is one of the original property owners and there have been no known issues that I know of.

Where did you do your search? By looking at the current list, there is only one actually living in Victory. Some work in Bristow or live in surrounding neighborhoods. http://sex-offender.vsp.virginia.gov/sor/exec...

No, there are two. One is the original home owner that has lived here about a decade, the other is a recent addition (to the list, not sure if he is new to the neighborhood).
I live very close to one of them and have no concerns about allowing my children to play outside. I have never heard any of my local friends and neighbors express concern either.

I am also moving to Bristow and thinking about Victory Lakes. Do you like the schools there? I also saw online that there is this Pennington traditional school, seems to be a good school from online review. Does anyone have kids attend Pennington? How do you like it?
