I guess there's no consideration regarding the 295+ homes Avendale community is bringing to the area. I think the developer has only one objective in mind. That will cost us in more ways than just traffic...Heard over the weekend that the new developer that bought the foreclosed commercial land there at 28 & Bristow is wanting to add a 200 unit apartment complex along 28 at Battalion Square.
From what I heard, the developer doesn't think there is enough people around to support a shopping center unless he gets to put in the apartment complex. That would mean a lot more traffic through the neighborhood on that side.

Hmmm I wonder where any children living in that apartment complex would go to school? Aren't the schools crowded enough?

Latest I have heard is the shopping center is going ahead and that the developer is talking about putting in townhouses now. Rumor is that the developer wants to put in a WalMart grocery store in the new shopping center as well as a gas station.
